A couple of years ago I spent ages looking for a computer desk. It needed to be a particular size (small) and to be able to hold a large printer and tower PC. I roughed out a design and Steve Weston of Lamberhurst Furniture made it for me. All in solid natural Oak. Its perfect. At the end of last year I decided to replace an Ikea Billy bookcase and cupboard that had done good service. I looked everywhere for something to fit in my limited space. I couldn’t find anything at any price. The M & S stuff came nearest but the units were all too deep. Again I went to Steve with my ideas. Last week the new unit Shaker style Welsh dresser arrived. It’s perfect. It matches the computer desk perfectly and the more I look at it the more I notice little design features that have been included and the quality of workmanship. All the drawers are properly made with dovetail joints and fit so well there is a satisfying puff of expelled air and they are closed. Steve’s has quite an orderbook, so you need to be patient, but the wait is worth it and unlike flatpack stuff everything is going to last forever.
