I recently attended the retreat for the weekend and would thoroughly recommend it. The accommodation and setting was first class, with the lake in close proximity and very peaceful surroundings. Tim was an excellent host, with the programme easy to follow and all ran smoothly. He had many interesting stories and experiences to share with the group. The yoga was very enjoyable as each session was different, and the day spent canoeing on the lake was brilliant. The food was the best thing about the weekend. I was unsure about it being vegetarian but I was looking forward to every meal and could not eat enough of it! The trip to the temple on the Island was really interesting and was a new experience for me. It's something unique to this retreat. There is great scope for socialising with group activities and meals so would recommend the silent retreat if you're not after that, however there's ample opportunity to spend time away in the quiet surroundings. All in all would definitely recommend!

We spent a yoga and canoeing weekend with Tim at Lake isle retreats recently - the setting is so peaceful surrounded by untouched woodlands and the lake. Tim is a lovely host and has many stories that are both interesting and funny. The temple visit is definitely a must - a very spiritual spot. The food is exceptional and I would honestly return for that alone. The lasagne and truffles specifically are not to be missed. I went for a quiet weekend which turned out to be more social than expected so if you are going for stillness the silent weekend may be better - but if you're looking for connection the retreat is very well set up for that with communal eating and group trips.

Weekend of May 19th - 21st 2023 was spent at Lake Isle Retreats - my 3rd retreat there since April 2022 with two more planned for the remainder of 2023. The reason I keep returning is that I feel much better after each retreat. Between the friendliest of hosts (Tim & Co), incredible home cooked vegetarian & vegan food, excellent yoga sessions, meditation, and depending on the retreat, additional activities like forest walks and canoeing, it’s an experience for the mind, body, and soul. It’s informal, communal, and kept simple and that’s what I love about it. My recommendation is to arrive with an open mind and loosen up. Shared duties include the washing up and drying, which leads to interesting chats with fellow retreat attendees. Dining is enjoyed communally in a fairly compact space so it feels quite intimate yet you can easily head off and do your own thing if you wish. The calmness of the place and the early nights really help put me at ease and recharge. For those so inclined, you can also enjoy a visit to Inish Rath Island and experience the daily life and for the Hari Krishna community that live there. I’ve always found this a special experience and I am very grateful to have had the opportunity. It might not be for everyone but again that’s totally OK. The overriding atmosphere of these retreats is relaxed. You can simply go with the flow and enjoy doing things on what I call ‘Tim Time’! The retreats feel like you’re staying with family. You also have the option of booking various therapies / treatments like massages, reflexology, and reiki etc. They are excellent value. A short walk to the meditation garden for some zen time does wonders for the mind. These retreats are not a hotel experience and they are not supposed to be and that’s what makes them so special. Ultimately, my way of judging if they are good or not is how I feel after them and each time I’ve done them, I have felt so much better in myself and that’s as much as I could ask for. I highly recommend.

I've just returned from my second stay at Lake Isle Retreat and already looking for another opportunity to return. I love this magical place, from the excellent vegetarian food, yoga, meditation, the temple, canoeing trip and reiki. All medicine for the sole.

Thank you Tim and Yen for a great weekend. We enjoyed hot stone and warm bamboo massage, Reiki, meditation and visualization, sound bath, walk, trip to the Island and last but not least we loved yoga thank you Lisa. The beautiful thing about our weekend was the amazing vegetarian food and the lovely people we met. I'm home with two cookbooks. The weekend was a tonic, we hope to return again.

I had a rest and restore weekend. It consisted of massages , yoga and a walk in the forest, meditations, And I met the most gorgeous cat - so gentle and loving. Amazing weekend. Tim is very open and very witty. The yoga teachers - best in class. I had a healing with Skunda (spelling!!!) fantastic all around - no more knee pain. That’s a miracle - right.

This is a wonderful place, so peaceful. The atmosphere is very welcoming and caring, there are lots of therapies and the vegetarian food is the best I've ever had. I've just returned from an Ayurveda and yoga retreat weekend and couldn't recommend this retreat highly enough. It is so affordable, reflecting the honest and loving ethos of the place. Lovely clean, warm and comfortable rooms too. I've done a longer review on TripAdviser. I'd totally recommend this retreat. You won't be disappointed.

Peaceful and remote place surrounded by nature and lovely sound of birds (sometimes of cows if you pay attention when you meditate in the forest eh eh). The hosts are lovely and the food delicious. It makes it even more pleasant to connect and enjoy the company of very nice people sharing the same experience. The hot stone massage was amazing! I came back home more energized and relaxed.
