A nice well kept statue in a lovely park. A great place to sit by the bank of the Thames. There is seating and shade and the gardens are well planted.

Lady Henry Somerset Memorial was a statue dedicated to Lady Henry by the Loyal Temperance Legion. Lady Somerset was a philanthropist, leader of the temperance movement and campaigner for women's rights. As another reader has pointed out, at the time when the statue was made, Lady Henry Somerset was still alive and kicking. Regardless, nowadays it's treated as a memorial to her. The statue itself is of a barefooted young girl holding a small bowl out. It's a pretty little statue and worth a detour if in the Victoria Embank area.
