The food and the service was fairly good. The restaurant also had a good vibe. However, when I came to pay the bill, which admittedly I didn’t check, I do feel that I was completely misled by the waitress who served our table. I was given a card-reader and then directed to add a service charge (if I would like to). I was very happy to do so at the time. I worked on the basis that if I was being asked to add this at the point of payment it hadn’t been included in the bill. After I had left, I did look at the bill and noted that the service charge had actually already been included. So I had in fact been invited to pay (and had paid) a second service charge. I did fill in the restaurant feedback form and noted this. In fairness to the restaurant, they did apologise but gave a fairly unconvincing explanation about why this had happened. I was also offered an apperitif if I would like to return. I won’t be going back.
