Do not take PT sessions with the trainers here as you have no protection if the trainer leaves. Unfortunately paid for PT sessions with a trainer here. The trainer left without notice taking my money. LA Fitness just stated that trainers are self employed and not employed by the gym (even though they wear LA Fitness gear) and as such it had nothing to do with them. Staff would not help in tracking down the trainer even though it transpired he had moved to a different LA Fitness in London. By the time I found out the PT had left that gym also! What company, knowing that the trainer had left customers out of pocket, would continue to hire the trainer in a different branch. Would definitely not recommend this gym or the chain.

Not great, i turned up to use the bench and it wasn't there, i asked when it was being replaced and was told that's not happening?? The trainers are great and very knowledgeable but the facilities are below sub standard, there's an anytime fitness you can join nr City Thameslink for tue same sort of price or spend the extra and go to the Virgin active Don't go here though, avoid!!

When my regular LA Fitness in Orpington had a fire and shut for a few months this was the branch I used most often as being in between Farringdon and City Thameslink stations on the Thameslink route made it a perfect stop off on the commute home. It's about average size for a central London gym, certainly not big, but enough equipment for most people to have a decent workouta. The decor is a little tired around the edges but clean enough. As with most LA Fitnesses there is a pool, albeit a small one and a steam room. The staff have always been friendly and approachable.

I've been a member for almost 6 months and I'm proud to be a part of it. Great gym with excellent trainers and classes. It's a vibrant atmosphere and totally different to other lifeless/generic gyms. A credit to all the staff.

Its a good gym overall, as far as im concerned a gym is a gym, but i do agree with some of the other reviewers. They often run out of towels, especially around New Years resolution time. They know its going to be busy, they should just buy extra towels in preparation, then when the rush dies they can throw out all the old ratty holey towels. They also don't wash their shower curtains often enough and they go orange from scum and smell and i hate it when they touch me. Most showers are mouldy, which i've learnt to live with in London. Its also not finished very well, you'll notice randoms holes in walls and unfinished wiring and piping, but again, i've become used to that standard in London. If you want something amazing, go pay £100pm and join Virgin, or just stay for the workout and don't worry about the little oddities.
