We got the go ahead to proceed with a tenancy but this was spontaneously cancelled due to what seemed like a spare of the moment emotional episode from one of their staff, Jayne. In hindsight, I’m glad we aren’t going ahead with this in the end, as having to deal with Jayne for any longer, would have been very difficult indeed.

Unreasonable, unprofessional, emotionally invested and senseless. This is them in short (at least who I was dealing with). I can see how all the other negative reviews came about, so here is the long story of my experience below… I’ll begin with Jayne Cooper, their lettings HR who unexpectedly cancelled a sound verbal agreement (after our holding deposit was handed over) because I requested that an additional water inlet be installed to accommodate a dish washer. I felt like she never wanted to ask the landlord and that I was bothering her by simply asking. I did also state that I’d be okay if the landlord didn’t want to but just wanted to see if he would do this for us. For some reason or another, perhaps she was emotional that day, she didn’t like that I request something so simple, so decided to return our deposit, after we had even passed the referencing. This was completely illogical and senseless from Jayne, as I can only imagine the landlord is simply a business man who wants viable tenants who can pay the rent. Perhaps she is bringing her problems to work and allowing her emotions to dictate her professionalism. This can only be bad for business and I see why there are so many bad reviews for the company. We also made provisions to move into the property, which has also wasted time, as we need to vacate our current property and need adequate time to do so. This is clearly very senseless from Jayne, and just shows the extent of her selfishness in contradiction to her clients, both tenants and landlords. Due to the fact that one may never know what emotional state their employees may be in on a given day, I would recommend to avoid LD! Furthermore, I will be seeking professional/legal advice in the meantime to see if the estate agent can unreasonable cancel a sound agreement, after a holding deposit was handed over and reference’s successfully passed.
