FAQ

What is your experience and training in craniosacral therapy?

At Kyrle House Practice, our team of therapists are highly trained and experienced in craniosacral therapy. We have undergone extensive training and certification, and regularly attend continuing education courses to stay up to date with the latest techniques and advancements in the field.

How does craniosacral therapy differ from other types of manual therapy?

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive form of manual therapy that focuses on the craniosacral system, which includes the bones, membranes, and fluids that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Unlike other forms of manual therapy, such as massage or chiropractic, craniosacral therapy uses very light touch and subtle movements to release tension and improve the flow of cerebrospinal fluid throughout the body.

Can craniosacral therapy be helpful for my specific condition or symptoms?

Craniosacral therapy has been shown to be effective for a wide range of conditions and symptoms, including headaches, migraines, neck and back pain, stress and tension-related disorders, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and many more. However, every individual is unique, and we recommend scheduling a consultation with one of our therapists to determine if craniosacral therapy is right for you.

How many sessions will I need and what can I expect during a typical session?

The number of sessions you will need depends on your individual needs and goals. During your initial consultation, we will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that takes into account your specific condition, symptoms, and lifestyle factors. A typical session lasts about an hour and includes a combination of gentle touch, focused breathing, and dialogue between you and your therapist.

What is your approach to integrating craniosacral therapy with other treatments or therapies I may be receiving?

At Kyrle House Practice, we take a holistic approach to healthcare and believe in integrating multiple treatment modalities to achieve optimal health and wellness. We work closely with other healthcare providers, including physicians, physical therapists, and chiropractors, to ensure that your treatment plan is comprehensive and coordinated. We also encourage open communication and collaboration between you and your healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Tom, the Osteopath at Kyrle House, has been treating my chronic back and neck condition for the past year, and I highly recommend him. He always checks that his treatment suggestions are appropriate for each visit before any treatment. Tom is extremely supportive and has helped me to manage and live with my condition.

A first class practice. From the moment you walk through the door the staff and practitioners make you feel like you are important to them. They have a wide variety of therapists available at a convenient time to suit you. I have visited several practitioners at the practice over many years most recently Tom. Tom always listens carefully to your symptoms and how they are affecting you and then uses various methods to treat you. The treatment is mainly hands on but is then supported by helpful advice and suggestions to carry out at home. I would not hesitate in recommending Kyrle House practice.

I saw Tom who didn’t even touch my spine or carry out any hands on treatment during the consultation. I’ve seen another osteopath who was much more helpful. To say I was disappointed is an understatement - everything he rambled on about were things I knew and he was blasting hands on treatment! Well do you just want to make money by talking for an hour and telling me to sleep and be active when I’m already doing those things?! As well as putting me off my job too! Putting £65.00 in the trash would have been a better investment and I would rather do that then to return to him ever again!
