I recently attended Caterina's bespoke pattern drafting workshop and left excited and thrilled by what I learned! I’m currently in my final year of a bachelors degree in fashion design and what I learned during this workshop, they do not teach you in Uni! I learned how to take body measurements precisely and then how to draft patterns using the measurements, to create a fitted, tailored, bespoke design. From learning this I can apply this method to create a garment for any shape or size. Thank you so much Caterina😊

The owner and I have been creating a great relationship as designers through mutual support and skills sharing as well as persons, inviting each other to cultural events. as I am unable to reply to your response I will respond in place of my original review. if the turnaround was too fast you could have said no, also I'd told you that I had someone else making me a version that would be ready in time, so the deadline was irrelevant. You also did not specify that you would charge me extra for a tight turn around, and there is nothing on the invoice about extra billable hours. ive been fortunate enough to be involved in projects that had costume designers who understand the requirements of circus performers, who have later became friends. So I do have friends who make costumes, but they are professionals. there is nothing about the amount of hours you were booked for on the invoice, only the date you were comissioned and the deadline, which i have already stated was irrelevant. when i came to the studio for the first fitting you said and i quote "i added in a few extra inches on the seam allowance, because i wasnt sure if you would have measured yourself correctly". Again, not my fault that you made the job longer for yourself. I know how to use a measuring tape, and the guide you sent was very detailed.i followed it correctly as i have done many times before for other projects, and nothing has ever been as oversized as your garment when i first tried in on. during the second fitting yes, i did like the look of it, and the fit in the upper body was great. Given the fact that your studio is small i did not feel as though i could do anything more to test the movement of the costume other than raise my arms and walk around a bit. But when trying on the garment in the performance space i noticed some issues that i could not see at the studio, so to my understanding it was not completed yet and needed a few small alterations. Although, had i noticed these issues in the studio, would you have still charged me more? These were not changes or additional requests, but something that should have been within the service i had already paid for. I did offer you tickets to the show so that you could see your work on stage, however i could not follow through with that offer as i was unable to wear it on stage until these issues were resolved. i initally followed up with an email that you ignored, because i wanted to let you know how i felt about what i had experienced. I followed up with a second email attaching a photo of the costume which had ripped, further explaining why alterations prior to completion are important. i said i would have no problem letting my colleagues and community know of my experience when/ if they asked who made my costume, i would have said the same if my experience would have been postive. it's not a smear campaign, nothing i have stated has been false or exaggerated, i have just shared an experience. Seeing as i am in a community of performers that you are looking to get more clients from i feel as though i am in a perfect postion to let you know what we require and expect from a service. i believe i am using the google review fucntion for its intended purpose. its also laughable that an hour or so after my review, multiple 5 star reviews appeared with comments that specifically counteract many of the things i mentioned. It's also interesting that the only other AUTHENTIC review is a negative one, also commenting on your attitude and professionalism. Just to clear things up, i do not feel entitled to have work done for free, i expected to have the service I had already paid for - a finished costume which fitted. the fact that you think i turned nasty justs seems more as though you are incapable of taking critique from people that are unhappy with your work or attitude and respond in a defensive and aggressive manner.
