I have been buying Hoads Kirkers since 1962, when I first met Jim Hoad. However I hadn’t bought any for s few months. I bought a packet some three weeks ago. What a disappointment, white, tasteless and not at all what I had come to expect. Hopefully it was a blip which won’t be repeated. I will buy more and keep my fingers crossed.

I stopped buying these sausages about 7 or 8 years ago because they had changed the skin around the sausage and the meat was not firm any more, but last week I decided to give them another go, unfortunately the recipe has not reverted to the original, so I won't be buying anymore.
