It took us a long time to find builders who we were comfortable to work with on our extension but from our first meeting with James, there was no doubt that Kiwi were the right choice. He took a proactive approach to our project from the outset, investing a lot of time looking to understand what we wanted to achieve, and ensuring that it got off on the right foot. Once the build was underway, we found the Kiwi team, led by Rich, had the same positive approach. Communication was clear, timetables were adhered to, and the inevitable issues that arose were quickly and creatively addressed meaning that we always felt that they were in complete control. Aside from the high quality of their work, we valued their enthusiasm and willingness to challenge us on our ideas or offer alternatives, many, if not all, of which we took on board with the result that we've now got a home better than we ever envisaged. They are also a friendly, personable and family-orientated team who were only too willing to work around us and our young daughters. There were so many positives from working with Kiwi D&B. They're professional, solutions focused and customer orientated but they're also a nice team to work with. We'd highly recommend them.

Kiwi Design and Build completed our single height extension in December 2018. What was really important to us, whilst going through the quoting stage, was to be able to work really closely with someone we could trust. We also wanted to ensure they came recommended by someone we knew and that they understood the concept we’d been working on for a couple of years. Living in an older house we wanted to maintain as much of the integrity of the original features that we could and having the extension looking like it had always been there was hugely important to us and it's fair to say we achieved just that. The communication with James was superb, it was always great talking through different options, pros and cons, nothing was too much trouble - we spent many an hour with bits of wood working out spacing and the best place to site a door in an odd shaped room and the type of door we should go for. Things that you haven’t really considered do become really important. The guys also, very cleverly, matched our old multi coloured brick work so that the extension blended perfectly with the original house, in keeping with my original brief. The rest of the team were also great, a really nice bunch of guys (and Kate) and couldn’t have been more pleasant and personable, also coming up with ideas along the way. We absolutely love the space they’ve helped us create and we wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for any other requirements!

A great job by a great team. We used Kiwi design and build for a kitchen and dining room extension over the summer. They did a fantastic job and the finished result is amazing. There was great communication throughout and they had great ideas on how to make the space work better for us. Everyone we met was friendly and polite and the work was finished on time and to budget. The whole experience was remarkably stress free. We would definitely use them again....

Kiwi Design and Build promise a very high spec. and customer focused build- see their website. Below are photos of what they actually deliver. This was a £200k project. Kiwi walked off the job - the cost of remedial works exceeding the amount owed to them for the build. Note regarding photos: Those of our build are the ones annotated with a description of the particular area of concern. Update 15/1/19- Seven "positive" reviews have just appeared for Kiwi in the last few days- they had none prior to my (this) review. Somewhat unusual????

We engaged Kiwi to renovate the 'tired' canal side cottage we'd bought, but first we needed somewhere to live while they ripped the house apart... We'd thought maybe a static caravan but quickly realised that, once the new garage was built, we'd have to have the caravan craned out - an expense we could do without. So the first of James's many suggestions - we live in the garage! As one of us works from home a fair bit, this meant we could be on site for the regular planning meetings required, whilst not actually living in the building site - fab! Whilst we had a general plan before we started, some bits 'grew' as the build developed - including taking out a disused chimney upstairs to be able to fit in our 'luxury' - a small sauna (courtesy of Zoki saunas in Birmingham). Some 'experts' had said our new kitchen space wasn't big enough for an island - James, with his spray paint on the new concrete floor, showed us that it was. Nothing was too much trouble for the merry band of lads who worked on our project - one day, whilst working in my 'study' in the garage, I heard the tramping of what sounded like a small army. I opened the door to find everyone had downed tools to help bring in the new kitchen which had just arrived! We wanted 'clean lines' in the lounge but an RSJ across the middle meant supports jutting out on either side - can they go? Yes, said James, if we replace the brick wall above with a stud wall as that's all that's being supported. Down came the wall & "keep the bricks as something from the original house & use them to build the new fireplace" - great idea, thanks boys! Rainwater harvesting - not done that before said Kieran the plumber, but he read up about it all, & James talked to his contact at the plumbing merchants & so it was fitted, beautifully! We moved back into the house 6 months later, a little later than expected but that was partly due to us doing our own decorating. It was sad to see the boys go, but what a pleasant surprise a few months later on Christmas Eve when James arrived with a bottle of Kiwi wine to say thank you for our custom - cheers! We've had the boys back since for other smaller work - Darren dug holes in the drive, in the snow!, before he fitted gates; a concrete slab was laid for a huge shed to be moved onto to be revamped into a summerhouse in which the electrics are being finished off shortly. We have no hesitation in recommending Kiwi - they are patient, funny, helpful, thoughtful with customer care second to none. They've helped turn our house into a home!

Kiwi carried out a single story extension to our kitchen in summer 2018. We are really happy with it. We chose kiwi following recommendations from previous happy customers. The work was completed on time and on budget. Unexpected glitches are inevitable with building work but Kiwi showed a great attitude to solving any problems and getting the job done. Everyone we were in contact with were professional and a pleasure to have around. We will be using them again for some other work this year.

I appointed Kiwi Design and Build to carry out all building work for my new kitchen a year ago and was extremely happy with the end result, and still am! It was all a relatively smooth process and Kiwi worked in conjunction with the kitchen company to complete the majority of work within the timescale they had proposed, in spite of some unexpected complications once the ceiling was taken down for the removal of a structural pillar. A very pleasant and reliable team of professionals who made every effort to complete the job to my satisfaction. I would use them again.
