A wonderful stall with decent pocket money toys. We have always found the owner very kind - he lets children explore the goods and explains how things work with great patience.

They used to have a shop in town but now only have a hut on the harbour. They must do a good trade but I'm not sure the chap who owns it likes his work. Over many years of walking by I have never once seen him smile. Even when surrounded with wide-eyed, angelic little kids I've only ever seen him glower. Perhaps he doesn't like them. If you're a parent going to the harbour and anticipate bring pestered to buy your kids crabbing nets, kites, toy windmills and the like I strongly advise you do so before arriving. The prices at Kites and Things are horribly inflated. Take one example - this being a beach/ handheld windmill. The thing is just a bit of cane and some cheap plastic spinners for sails. It costs a whopping £10 at Kites and Things and only £2 at Home Bargains. There's no excuse really for that amount of mark-up at Kites and Things is there. Even with a complaining child in tow I'd refuse to pay it.
