Washing and drying of clothes, and oneself, too. Leslley kindly stayed an extra 20 mins, as I missed the earlier bus. Very large campsite. Toilets and showers were good. Walkability: Short walk from main road and buses.

Abandoned places and their stories
Great place if you want to throw your stuff in a tent and go out for the rest of the time , the campsite is 5 mins away from the ferries, toliets are clean and has a dryer and washing machine if you want to use it , the bottom of the patches gets waterlogged so butter to stay at the top. Service : 3/5 | Location : 4/5 Hotel highlights Quiet … More

First of all I want to say a huge thank you to the team at the campsite for maintaining it and providing an extremely positive experience! The location is absolutely stunning but I would recommend coming in a car because the ferry port seems really far away when your carrying all the gear by foot 🤣. The prices were outstanding for what you are offered, free 24/7 facilities including showers and cheap electricity! The views are incredible and there is a lot of space so you are never disturbed by other fellow campers. I went to Kite Hill with my mate and the only negative we can agree on is the electricity post light is fairly bright and does shine through the tent fabrics at night. But that's a very picky thing and I can't wait to come back here and to be greeted by the wonderful team. Ben and luke.

Great site with no silly rules. Clean toilet and washing facilities. Site has a bit of a slope in various places so blocks are needed.

Stayed for 5 nights in late June. The site was mostly empty and very quiet, a few tourists and permanent pitches. Facilities were very clean and for the most part unoccupied. In a great position for access to the east of the island, less than 20 minutes from two ferry ports, close to Wootten Bridge (pubs, restaurants, small supermarket), nice walk around the harbour to the small beaches. Close to Cowes and Ryde. We cycled around using the back roads and well marked cycleways. Very hot water and very powerful showers. Good washing up and laundry facility consisting of one washer (3 x £1 coins plus £1 for detergent) and one dryer, four washing up sinks. I would expect the facilities to be overwhelmed if the camp was busy.
