Great heritage site with rich historical details including diagrams, models and other exhibits. The history of the area from medieval times is explained. Parts of the building are restored and parts in ruin. There are peacocks and a picnic area. There's a small shop with basic refreshments but no hard sell and no cafe. Toilets are portaloos. A great day out if you like genuine history rather than Disney style entertainment

One of the better English heritage sites. I really enjoyed visiting Kirby Hall today. The hall is still very well preserved and fascinating to walk around. Appropriate history information displayed around the hall, and lots of little hidden corners and staircases. We bought a picnic as there is no cafe on site, only a small gift shop at the entrance, there are porta loos which are well looked after, and the highlight of the day was the peacocks and peahens. Absolutely stunning birds, friendly and happy to come and investigate our lunch and then the two male peacocks took it in turns to show off their feathers. Definitely coming back as local to this E.H site.
