Disappointed with this Sam Smiths pub. Quite expensive and no cask ales. I sat down inside on my own and started to read an email on my phone - and the bar person asked me to put my phone away. An unfriendly place.

Strange late evening drink with a group of us. A bloke (who appeared to be a customer, not staff) told us to queue up differently to help the lady on the bar. We did this even though it appeared to not affect service either way. We drank outside and fella followed us out, creating odd conversation. Slightly surreal...beer was good though! What is it with Sam Smiths pubs??!!

Nice historic pub. It's a Samuel Smith so they only sell Samuel Smith beer. If you like that you're in luck. If not then give it a go. Also because it's a Samuel Smith, mobile phones are banned because they want you to talk to each other. If your want to talk about something that's on your phone, I don't know what you could do. I've taken two photos for your delight, with my phone. Many Bothans died to bring us this information.

Great location, good beers, that's why it's got a 2. Staff are dreadful, some of the worst I've experienced in 30+ years. Looking at some of the reviews here, the owners/management need to address this.
