I would never buy another or recommend a Kia to anyone. Kia Proceed developed a fault where it would randomly lose power. Pretty dangerous when overtaking or pulling out of a junction. Car was two years old. I was having to wait for months for a dealership to even diagnose the problem, once diagnosed, it was suggested that I may have to wait for a month again if I wanted a repair with a courtesy car (we live rural so need a car). Contacted Kia head office to see what could be done. Lots of apologies but ultimately, I would have to arrange for another car out of my own pocket if I needed to get somewhere, until it could be repaired. They were very quick to start quoting terms and conditions of warranty rather than at least trying to help me out of the situation. Kia and their dealership network are just horrible. Due to it being under warranty, I couldn't even use an independent who might have been able to help this along. Remember that Kia are in bed with Hyundai too. I'd give them a miss as well.

Do not buy a kia! Standard oil consumption for KIA is 1L per 1000 miles! I reported the problem of excessive oil consumption but KIA, without conducting the test, stated that the standard is 1L per 1000 miles. So if you do 10000 miles per year you have to put 10L in there. when I asked for confirmation of this, I received information that they do not have such data (KIA UK does not have a specification of oil consumption for KIA Engines recorded anywhere, but they said 1L per 1000 miles). Contact with them is poor, they don't answer e-mails, they don't call back, they don't solve your problems, but if you have to do a service and spend money with them, they call 3 times a day. They do not repair your car, even if it is on their side in connection with the warranty ect, they will only say that everything is ok, just like with that oil consumption. Just like when I was buying a car, I asked if the tires were ok because they looked worn out. They said yes and passed the test. 3 months later I had to buy new tires because they didnt pass the MOT so extra £600. ok maybe i used them for these 3 months but I doubt it. I found information on the internet: EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION - NU/GAMMA/THETA ENGINES Page 8 of 20 Printed TSB copy is for reference only; information may be updated at any time. Always refer to KGIS for the latest information. TSB: ENG222 (Rev 2) Multiple Models December 2020 SUBJECT: AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE: Model Year Soul (AM) 2012 to 2013 Soul (PS) 2014 to 2019 Sportage (SL) 2011 to 2016 Sportage (QL) 2017 to 2018 Optima (TF) 2011 to 2015 Optima (JF/JFa) 2016 to 2018 Optima (QF) 2011 to 2015 Sorento (XMa) 2012 to 2015 Sorento (UMa) 2016 to 2018 and others and I have also found article about 'class actions against Kia alleging that certain Kia vehicles (the “Affected Vehicles”) have latent design, manufacturing, material, and/or workmanship defects that cause restricted oil flow, excessive oil consumption, sudden vehicle stalling, catastrophic engine failure, and/or non-collision engine fires (the “Engine Defect”).' If you don't want to have problems with the engine, oil or stretching facts about the condition of your car, don't buy a KIA. I hope I helped you avoid problems!

One star really is generous, our contract hire Sportage after 2 years broke down in April, struggled to find a local dealer to even take the car in ,now 9 months later still getting pinged between the dealer and customer services with no end in sight, no apologies just lies and the worst customer service in history, in fact Kia can’t even pass messages on from their dealers correctly but this in turn becomes a blame game between the dealer and the contract hire company which is of course Kia!! But I should be grateful as I am paying for an SUV on a contract so as a courtesy car I get a Ford focus and apparently I was lucky to get that! Which is great for my wife and 3 teenage kids and 2 dogs, I now have to borrow a car to take the dogs out when required and for my mother in law who has a blue disabled badge as well as she can’t lower herself into the focus hence why we wanted an SUV. Absolute waste of time having a 7 year warranty, most of that time one would assume the vehicles would be in the garage! Absolute shocking experience and never again, I could write for and piece on the hours I have spent trying to get thru or generally communicate with the worst car company in the world, hope your Kia never breaks down as who knows when you will see it next!!!

Avoid!! Avoid! Avoid the brand. I write this review so no other Family or person experiences the same issue we are going through with a very heavy heart and I wish my family and I were not in this awful situation. Following purchasing our Kia Sportage AWD AT GT line 2018 with 33 000 Miles 6 months ago, we have now found ourselves car less after just 7000 miles. The car was originally bought by the first owner from Brayley Kia Oxford dealer and all 3 previous services done by this dealer and now sits in their work shop for more than 3 weeks with no diagnostics being conducted and clearly no indication of when they will be able to diagnose the vehicle. The diagnostics done by our privately contracted road side assistance (Kia Road side not available when called) stated the gear box has failed and cannot engage gears (Note this is an Auto). The car smells of burnt Clutch which we were advised by the road side assistance that this issue seems to be an internal gear box issue from his professional opinion. The car is way under the 100000miles/7year warranty. The dealer have confirmed over 16 breakdowns and also have cars there for repairs over two months and understandably work on a first come first serve basics. We have laid complaints with Kia UK and get no assistance what so ever and all we get told is the dealers are independent. Kia as a group and as a dealer do not stand by what they advertise especially the Kia Family like care part. We understand things break but breaking and not having an indication of when this can be repaired nor assist with providing a loan car wile they resolve the break down is definitely not family like care. This is a very cut down edit of our experience with KIA as a whole. Extremely frustrating and utterly unacceptable!!!

Photo of Sandy Hutchison Sandy Hutchison 14 minutes ago This branch is beside a public country park. As on many occasions I have not been able to access the park due to cars blocking the entrance. Many park users are feed up with the way the park car park is full with Kia's cars. And continual entrance blocking, even though a no parking zone is in situ. The staff behave like they are entitled. I have contacted Bedford borough council about the situation. They sent one individual from parking to the location once! Shows who ever is running this branch needs to attend a social skills training program. SORT IT OUT Like Share

Horrible company, for 14 months I'm dealing with a fault and constantly being pushed between dealers and Customer "non" care team. now to be told I might be liable for the cost of still unknown problem because certain parts are out of warranty. NEVER Buy KIA, more headache than it's worth and their 7 year warranty seems to be marketing stunt at best.

Spent 3 weeks talking to customer services, many emails sent and received as I have a warranty issue only to be told that they cant contact or deal with warranty issues. The dealer says that Kia have refused to honour the warranty as the paperwork was not in order. Further paperwork was produced confirming part numbers on oil, oil filter and air filter but still they refused because dealer said original invoices did not itemise products used. The long established company that did the services stated that nowhere in the warranty documents does it state that part numbers should be shown in invoices. The Retail Motor Industries legal departments legal team agree that, so although every part used numbers have been sent to Kias warranty dept they still reject my warranty claim. As a 72 year old pensioner they expect me to pay over £900 to fix a noisy cam chain that should last the lifetime of the car thats in warranty with 45000 miles on the clock. A BILLION dollar company, itss shameful
