Sadly not the experience I was expecting from a franchised Jaguar dealer. I rang Kentdale Jaguar dealership the day before to arrange to view a one year old Jaguar which was advertised on their website. The sales team took all of my details including home address and advised me the vehicle would be available to view and to also bring my driving licence should I wish to drive it. I arrived at the reception the following day to view the car, a salesman was found even though they couldn't find my details on the system, but he had another customer due shortly for a handover. I followed the salesman onto the sales pitch to view the car which was advertised as Jaguar approved, what I was greeted with looked like a vehicle from an Ebay advert for a "genuine barn find" complete with years of dust. The look of embarrassment on the salesman's face said it all, the paintwork had no visible shine under the layers of grime, cob webs & rusty brakes which gave a nice crack as the salesman attempted to move it so the doors could be opened, the rear bumper had a number of scratches and the badly aligned tailgate had eaten into the top of the rear bumper and worn away the tailgate, upon attempting to close the boot lid (the car had gone into low battery mode so the tailgate wouldn't operate) the wonky number plate added to the picture. Luckily by this point I had gone off the idea of a test drive which was a good thing given there was barely enough fuel to get it off the forecourt. The salesman advised me the Land Rover side of the dealership always takes priority over the Jaguar side and due to the Land Rover side being busy there was no staff available to even clean the Jaguar stock. The F-Pace SVR I was looking to purchase is one of Jaguars range topping premium models, but given the fact Jaguars own franchised dealer has little passion for this model it has put me off the brand. So after the 198 mile round trip I was left feeling far from impressed by JF & E Hadwin Kentdale Jaguar. I genuinely hope someone from Kentdale Jaguar reads this feedback and improvements can be made to save someone else from feeling let down by the service they have received. Buying a new car from a franchised dealership where you pay a premium for a high standard of service and knowledge of the product should always be an enjoyable experience for the customer.
