Hi have a mortgage with Kensington for a few years now , but with covid we where unable to remortgage to another provider . The last 6 months Kensington has raised our mortgage twice and we are now paying the same has I get in wages . I’m may loose my home if another increase happens . Also getting further into debt to be able to cover all other bills . The government is only helping with mortgage if your already claiming benefits ,what a joke This company don’t have any morals and could care less about a complaint. Avoid at all cost .

The absolute worst lender out there. Do not make the mistake of using these people. Customer service appalling. No help. No support with mortgage. Stuck with this lender for over a decade and can’t change product, extend term… absolutely NOTHING!! Shocking they’re still allowed to trade. Takes over 1 hour before they answer the call. Staff appear to be working at home and distracted. Look at their POOR review rating! It speaks for itself.

I still cannot believe this happened to me after waiting for so long since July, provided all the documents requested from me immediately after application with explanations. I was told my mortgage offer was declined due to family members loan my business money instead of bank, and because my business did better than the previous year. I still can't get my head round the reasons I was declined. I'm gutted and sad, I wish someone can have a look and reviewed my application once again. As I'm ready to provided more evidence as I worked so hard for my company to get where I am now.

Avoid at all costs. Kensington took 5 months to finally give us a mortgage. Months and months of back and forth questions of which they then take 2 weeks to reply to each question. They offered us a Mortgage finally 5 months down the line then days before exchange they said "opps we forgot to ask do you have a student loan" of which we did... "okay were going to take 13k off your mortgage offer". I would not even recommend this company to someone I hate, it was appalling. They don't know what they are doing, they ask for the same thing time and time again. The anxiety and stress of moving house is enough let alone this added stress on-top working with a company that don't care about their clients. Please save yourself a massive headache and money and don't even entertain Kensington mortgages.

2 Days before the exchange of contracts they claimed they were unaware of the freehold aspect to the leasehold flat and wanted a charge on it. This isn't possible as it's shared with the co-owner of the flat below. After several calls from my solicitors asking why they would need this and how odd it is to request it they wouldn't budge. This has now completely ruined everything and now we cannot purchase our first home. 2 days before exchange, 3 MONTHS after the mortgage offer itself. I've spent thousands already and its all for nothing. Honestly from start to finish they were a complete pain with problem after problem, wanting more money after agreeing the amount - it got to the point I thought they were trying to make it impossible. You may be desperate for a mortgage like us but honestly, if there are other options that might take a little more effort or a little more money think about doing that instead of using these.

Do not get a mortgage with this company. Kensingtons have no interest in their customers. They made lots of mistakes on our account and try to hide their mistakes. When you contact them they have no interest in fixing things. If you are considering getting a mortgage with kensingtons mortgages then don't. it will be your biggest mistake

We went through Oli in Like Mortgage Advice and he got us a mortgage offer in one week with Kensington. Oli was fantastic, he knows the requirements and processes within Kensington so he gave us full advice on what documents we needed. We’re now in our new home and just called their customer services to confirm our first payment - they answered the phone in seconds! Compared to Bank of Ireland which took 40 minutes I was impressed! Thank you for our mortgage we are very grateful ⭐️

After looking through the reviews on Google for Kensington it seems so many people have been unhappy with their service or the company as a whole but for those looking and wanting some reassurance we haven't had any problems at all! We was offered our mortgage just after lockdown in May and moved into our house in September. Yes they do ask for a lot of information but I would be the same if I was lending someone hundreds of thousands of pounds! It’s also reassuring because they are ensuring that affordability can be met. I have only needed call once due to confusion on my monthly payment date and the staff member I spoke to was wonderful. She called me back when she said she would, she was clear and correct in her information and she took ownership and apologised for any inconvenience. We are on a high interest rate so that’s the only reason I would look to leave this company in a couple of years when our fixed period is ending.
