Little on the pricey side and the seating isn't the most comfortable. The food is exceptional though, especially the beef bourguignon. And some tasty wines to go with the food! The staff are very friendly and know their stuff. Great place for an anniversary or special occasion.

I'd say it was amazing as always but that feels like damning with faint praise. We booked for our anniversary and had informed Kendell's of the occasion. When we arrived we were shown to a great little table tucked away in the corner to avoid disturbance. The staff were brilliant; informed yet informal. We were asked if we had a deadline for a theatre showing, which we didn't, and a touch I really liked, they didn't do that annoying thing of asking how things are halfway a course. When time started getting on we asked if the table was needed for other guests but we were assured it was not and we spent two and a half wonderful, unhurried hours there. Little touches like a couple of glasses of champagne arriving with the menus and then a couple of delicious brownies on a slate with Joyeaux Anniversaire in icing (see the photo) made the night even better. I ordered the moules mariniere for starter, and they were delicious, but that didn't stop me from getting food envy when my better half's poached egg in red wine sauce arrived. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten; I cannot recommend it highly enough. The swordfish was incredible but creme brulé remains something that I would crawl over broken glass for, it is the most divine thing! Kendell's Bistro regularly tops Leeds List's selection of the best restaurants in the city and it's evident why. I can't wait to go back. Sublime.
