I wanted to book a viewing for a property and when the agent asked me if we got any pets then I advised him we want to have a small sized dog or a cat in the future. For this he responded the property is not pet friendly, which is included in the lease. I then asked if there is a possibility to have this amended, or include in the special clause, and also I advised him that the government set new rules that does not allow landlords and estate agents to refuse tenants to have pets without providing a good reason. The agent then responded the landlord has nothing to do with this as it’s in the lease… not cool and definitely not recommend keatons
