I had the worst food poisoning of my life at Kazu and do not recommend it to anyone. I am Japanese and wanted to treat myself to a nice lunch of unaju grilled eel (a summer delicacy in Japan), only to find myself violently vomiting 2 hours later. I continued to vomit 4 more times the rest of the day - I didn't eat anything and only drank water but could not even keep that down. I felt ill and weak for the following few days. The worst part was the reaction of the Kazu staff. When I called the restaurant the next day to tell them what happened, both the chef and the owner/manager were aggressively rude. From the start, they were extremely defensive (the chef raised his voice at me). They denied any possibility the eel could have caused the food poisoning, blaming it on what I had for breakfast, which was only a slice of toast with honey (the manager said that bread can develop an invisible mould that cannot be killed with cooking and causes vomiting, but definitely not their eel...?). They did not offer any apology or refund, adamant that they had absolutely had no fault in it. Of course, I acknowledge that there could be other reasons for the food poisoning (though unlikely). However, I found their response to be shocking - they did not want to listen to a customer's experience and completely, 100% denied the possibility that the restaurant or their supplier could have had a problem. They even told me I could complain all I wanted but they would do nothing. As a Japanese person, I was extremely disappointed that the Japanese owner had such an appalling attitude towards its customers and presents itself as a high-quality Japanese restaurant. Kazu should be ashamed.

Decent food, but not amazing Felt under pressure by the waitress constantly asking if we wanted to order more drinks, starters, and mains. The bill was higher than anticipated. Service charged was added though I don't think they provided a good service

(Translated by Google) I liked the fact that I could order fresh sashimi and sushi, refreshing small bowls, and proper tempura, so I went there many times during my stay in London. Many Japanese restaurants in London are not suitable for everyday use, but here you can casually stop by. The chef and staff are very friendly, so you can relax and enjoy your meal. Even if it was full on the reservation site, there was a vacant seat when I stopped by. The impression that you can't make a reservation right away. Take away was also very popular.

I tried this on a Friday afternoon. Got the lunch set menu. Salad, miso soup, black cod and a orange. Average nothing special. Not rushing back anytime soon.
