    Unfortunately a very bad experience. I had 2 dresses altered at £115, prepaid, to be ready in time to wear to a wedding. Katherine was very attentive in the fitting, generous with her time, and recommended I come in the day before the wedding to collect. On collection day the shop was closed with a sign saying shut for 4 days. I called, left an answerphone hoping to find out if I could still collect or needed to quickly sort something else to wear, but just received a text in response saying 'sorry, can't talk right now'. I presumed an emergency of some sort, so let it be. When I went into collect the following week and ask what happened, Katherine was surprisingly unhelpful and unprofessional. I 'should have called' (I did), that she had painting work but 'couldn't go around calling all 200 clients to let them know' (I'm not sure there were 200 people due to collect on the Friday), that no she hadn't just forgotten when saying I could collect that day, and finally that she had emergency waterwork, all said whilst handing me my clothes and shuffling me out the door. I think she was embarassed to be having an awkward conversation with another client in the room, but it wasn't a fair reaction. I'm a huge wimp when it comes to complaining or addressing poor service, I was calm and kind, and hoping for just 'Oh I'm incredibly sorry, we had an emergency/I completely forgot. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, would you like a partial refund'. There was no mention of reimbursement or frankly a clear response, and I felt blamed myself. I would like to say that at least the alterations turned out well, but the hem shortening on one dress had been forgotten so it was still too long to wear, and the other dress came out tighter than our pinning, so I wouldn't have been able to wear either to the wedding. Everyone has a rough day or an emergency, but it was a confusing and disappointing experience all round. I feel uncomfortable going back in to ask for the alterations to be fixed.
