  We had Charlotte and the rest of her Karen Rhodes Team cater for our wedding just before Christmas. From start to finish we had exceptional communication, professionalism and above all, care. We were so well looked after and even with some last minute alterations (which included the dreaded table plan!), they all couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was exactly what we’d requested and better in fact, as there was so much of it!! It tasted delicious (the gravy is amazing) and Northern portions it most definitely is. All perfectly served, hot and spot on time. Our staff on the day were excellent and a special mention must go to Phoebe who with her calm unobtrusive manner, oversaw the day with complete perfection. Thank you so so much, we had THE best day and your part in this was exceptional. We couldn’t recommend the Karen Rhodes Team highly enough.

  Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone looking for a wedding caterer. Poor food and awful customer service. To say we were disappointed with Karen Rhodes on our wedding day is an understatement. They didn't order enough food which meant we waited a very long time for it to be served as they had to go out and buy more. When the food eventually arrived, it was tasteless and underwhelming. The baked camembert was under-cooked and was served with hardly any crostinis; the pulled pork bon bons tasted like sawdust; the chicken needed a lot of gravy to make it edible as it was so dry; we asked for roasted potatoes and received plain, boiled potatoes; veg was served raw in bowls of water and the sticky toffee pudding tasted stale. It was apparent the food had been left on heat whilst they went to buy more food which was why it was so dry. Burning smells also came from the kitchen which stunk out the reception room. Service was chaotic - they had no idea who ordered what and guests received incorrect orders (concerning when we had a number of people with intolerances). They blamed this on two tables swapping locations due to venue spacing which happened the day before the wedding (for a catering company as experienced as Karen Rhodes says they are, this shouldn't have even been an issue. They should have also reviewed the table plan the morning of the wedding and spoke to me directly if they had any issues). We raised a formal, verbal complaint on the day to Laura multiple times (service manager) and Phil (business owner) expecting our complaint to be taken further - it wasn't. After we raised a further written, formal complaint, it took a while for Charlotte to respond as they were 'busy with other weddings'. When she eventually replied, she insinuated we were liars and asked for CCTV footage to prove what we were saying was true as there was a number of discrepancies between what her staff said and what we detailed (CCTV wouldn't explain how poor the food tasted). Our venue and all of our guests can vouch for what we complained about being true. She took little to no accountability for their mistakes and in fact blamed us for them! We were so confused as to how it could be our fault they didn't order enough food for our guests as they had all our final numbers months prior to our wedding. Our menu was apparently confusing, but if they had any queries they should have raised this with us. We weren't expecting to get anywhere with the complaint as it is a family business, but we weren't expecting to be treated the way we were. I called Charlotte in which a number of other things was discussed which she then denied - we felt gaslighted by her and completely belittled. She then emailed making cruel remarks about my mother, insinuating she ruined our day for complaining and that nothing would make her happy which is absolutely appalling. For someone who wasn't even present on our wedding day to make such remarks about my mother is utterly disgusting, disgraceful and very unprofessional. You can get over bad tasting food at a wedding as it just becomes forgettable and unmemorable - maybe not for the people who paid thousands of pounds for it but your guests will remember the atmosphere on the day. What you can't get over is how you are treated afterwards by the company because you made a complaint. When we booked in 2020 they had a good reputation - we were happy with how responsive they were to emails and our food tasting was superb. We were really looking forward to having them cater for our wedding, however, I would not recommend this company now. If we could do anything differently, we would have listened to word of mouth and cancelled our booking with them, taken the hit on losing our deposit and looked for an alternative supplier. Advice for any future couples getting married: be thorough in who you pick to be your suppliers. Ask multiple venues for their recommendations on who they have worked with recently. Reputations can change very quickly, so don't go with someone based on their reputation from a while ago.

  Wow, Wow, Wow. We chose Karen Rhodes as our caterers for our wedding at New House Farm in the Lake District in June '22. They made the process as simple and stress free as possible from start to finish. We went for a tasting a few months before the wedding and it was delicious. They produced exactly the same on the day of the wedding for 117 guests. They were totally on it with special dietary requests for veggies, vegans and gluten free guests and everyone absolutely loved the food. Thank you so much Charlotte, Victoria and team for your amazing work, we had the best day and it wouldn't have been the same without your amazing food. Siobhan & Andy

  Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic too! We had so many positive comments from guests (and other suppliers!) about the food - it was amazing and there was so much of it! We particularly enjoyed the carby evening foods, as well as the brilliant picnic hampers. Thank you for being so easy and fun to work with - both the planning and the day itself were completely stress-free and the catering tent was a picture of calm all day/evening

  We are so happy that we asked Karen Rhodes Weddings and Events to provide the food for our wedding - we were really impressed with the service from start to finish. Right from the beginning, Charlotte was extremely responsive and happy to answer any questions we had. We were provided with a clear step-by-step guide of the main decisions/deadlines leading up to the wedding which helped us keep track of what was left to finalise. We are able to create the full menu/canapés from scratch, with input from Charlotte and the team. The tasting session was great to see all the ideas come together and to make small tweaks to the final menu. On the day, Charlotte and the team were professional, kind and on point to ensure everything ran to schedule. The food was delicious and our guests provided some really nice feedback. We would definitely recommend Karen Rhodes Weddings and Events!

  Dinner for 2 was absolutely excellent. My wife is a brilliant chef, so I was very nervous about mucking it up, but straight forward menus and simple instructions. Totally nailed it. Lamb was beautifully tender and delicious, and she loved it. Top marks all round. Thanks Karen Rhodes
