I have been here many times over the years and the lamb skewers were always heaven, tasty ,tender,well marinated and seasoned, with very tasty rice ,so I took my dad for his birthday . Sadly the now the rice is bland and probably from a freezer or packet ,with bits of carrot in and no flavour. The lamb meat was fatty ,chewy and had gristle, no flavour. The baclava was mini shop bought ones not the layered square that used to be served here. So very disappointed at the quality for the price . I can get a take away lamb kebab near us that is so much better . I did love the food here with a passion but will not go back anymore . The only good thing was that the staff were pleasant. Such a shame !

The staff isn’t that kind. The choice in the menu is scant and the prices are a lil bit higher than I expected. However its clean and wide. We didn’t receive any compliments of the restaurant like we do in most of their Turkish colleagues.

Love to go there every time we're in York. Food is amazing, I love the smell of the charcoal,the restaurant itself is clean and the staff are really nice, we always feel welcomed there. If you have a chance I highly recommend iskender and the best way is to finish your meal with a hot glass of Turkish tea!

An amazing place that offers delicious and mouthwatering food... Had the best in-house white wine and starter, main course to baklava was exceptionally mind blowing... I was so full that I couldn't have Turkish tea but next time for sure Vegetarian options: They have good options for vegetarians as well... My friend ordered Mousakka. It is served with chefs special sauce. It was worth it.

Amazing service, amazing food. Lovely place!! Ordered the hummus for starters. Chicken iskender and lamb skewers for mains. If you like saucy food then the chicken iskender is for you. The lamb was so soft. The apple tea is amazing - you need to try it, highly recommend! Will definitely be back. Sonia
