New review relating to Kamome in Pop Brixton I went to visit the restaurant since it relocated and ordered chicken udon noodles. I was confused by the taste because it was very spicy and sour, not what you expect from chicken udon unless stated. So disappointed, won't be revisiting. Old review relating to Kamome in Brixton Market I decided to randomly stop by and ordered Tempura Prawn udon noodles. They were divine and had home cooked feeling to it. This was the best udon noodles I ever had.. The tempura was so well done and crisp served separately from the noodles. I still think about that soup.. So good!

Quite bad sorry to say. We got chicken donburry and it didn't look anything like the pictures. It was a soggy mess and neither of us could finish our meal

We were hungry and had just left another restaurant in Brixton market after they had told us our order was not available and they had served the last on deliveries, I will not let it affect the review of this restaurant but we were looking for something in a hurry as we were already very hungry, we spotted this nice looking Japanese restaurant with great pictures of food and noodle dishes we and our 8 year old would like, once inside we looked at the menu and decided on a meal, it felt like the place could have been more clean not through the staff not being attentive, they were very welcoming, the kitchen looked messy unorganised and tools and other random items on a storage shelf in the middle in plain sight, looked like it had been there for sometime, the table although cleaned felt sticky and the plate served was slightly dirty, I kept positive but the to taste of the food was bland and disappointing, the bill was presented and a service charge on top of a supposedly £10 each meal deal a service was added ontop, I paid it, I wouldnt go again unfortunately but hopefully this will help improve some aspects as it seems friendly local and many people inside seem like regulars, the food filled a hole but we were hungry

Simple, unassuming Japanese shop in Brixton Village. The donburi was exactly what I needed. Come here for a traditional Japanese home cooked experience
