Ordered a 3800mm Vantage Juliet Balcony, they initially lost the order, therefore, there was a delay in the delivery. When the item came, we had it fitted by a builder in our absence, I then noticed some areas of missing and bubbled paintwork, I emailed the company with pictures, but got no reply. Time will tell if this was a good or bad purchase.

Fine if you want a standard balcony I guess but they ignored my emails once it became apparent my installation was non-standard. Rude! Edit: Thanks for responding. I responded twice after your initial email response, once shortly after and again a week later. I prefer to have confirmations in writing, I find it gives the consumer better protection in case of salesman making untrue comments.

Lots of problems: a. paint peeling off in a lot of places (I have an engineering background and I believe in this case the metal was poorly prepared with insufficient primer/etch before the paint was applied); b. swing out balconies that don't actually swing out unless you re-assemble them to allow the balcony to swing and return to rest on the wall bracket rather than hang on 2 bolts, which is dangerous in my opinion as a Chartered Engineer (we've had to do this re-work at height, when it could have just been assembled correctly in the first instance by the manufacturer); c. missing parts to maintain weather resistance, namely end caps; d. parts still not delivered that are essential to the balcony function - namely drop pins to allow 2 of our 4 balconies to be released to swing away from the house - the company always knew the balconies were needed as a quick means of escape to help with building control compliance, but they still used lock nuts to assemble the balcony on both sides, which defeats the object of them in terms of quick release for escape - when I asked for pins they said they'd get some out to me - they never did; e. poor contact (email doesn't work and I had to listen to the owner swearing at his staff whilst I was on the phone - this was a little uncomfortable). When I rang up to explain the issues we'd had I received no apology for any of this - it's honestly like it's my fault. They did send a can of spray paint in the post, some end-caps and a set of verbal instructions on how to re-assemble their products so that it performs the function we paid a lot of money for them to do. We've had a team of EU specialist ECO builders on site putting up our Grand Design house; they were concerned about the quality (they do a lot of work in Germany) and checked if I actually wanted them to install the balconies on my house. This company seem to be the only one in the UK that makes swing out Juliet balconies to size. So there really isn't a lot of choice to go anywhere else, and we have to use them too ensure our house is compliant with building control as a means of escape in 2 bedrooms otherwise we are delayed from moving in. So, if you're going to use them my advice is to be ready for re-work; I'm an former Apprentice Mechanical Engineer, and Military Engineer Officer (I now work in the global automotive manufacturing industry) so I have some technical skills - and it's a good job too. If you don't have a technical background then get someone in that does in order to help you re-assemble/fit them correctly or do any re-work. I hate writing negative reviews.
