I’ve come back to piano lessons as an adult and can’t imagine a better teacher than Josh! His lessons are extremely well thought out, balancing theory, pop and classical, and ensuring that what I learn in each “category” applies across the lesson. He’s really enthusiastic, encouraging, and crucially, patient. I find the personalised library, with pieces to play, theory notes, and lesson recap/homework, particularly helpful. The online live lesson format works well and it’s easy to book and pay for lessons. Highly recommend!

Having had regular online piano lessons with Josh for the past few months, I cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone wanting to learn the piano, or improve their skills. Initially hesitant whether online lessons would be effective, any concerns I had were quickly resolved when I met Josh for a brief 10 minute video call, where he showed me his clever video set up that allows his students to see him, his posture, as well as see his piano from his pov, so you can see his play and finger posture. Josh is a highly talented musician, and an outstanding teacher. The sessions are well structured and tons of fun, with a brief homework review at the beginning, followed by a bit of theory, and then progressing on to whatever song we are working on (I particularly love that I was encouraged to make a playlist for our lessons, allowing me to learn songs that I actually enjoy playing!). Josh is extremely lovely, patient, and kind. He is highly knowledgeable and an excellent communicator, always finding creative ways of simplifying complex music theory so it is easy to understand, even for a complete beginner like me. Following each session, Josh creates a new practice plan for me with clear goals to work on during the week. This enables me to clearly see my progress each week, and allows me to feel increasingly confident about my skills. Additionally, Josh has a super user friendly booking system - offering the options of paying for very reasonable priced single sessions of 30 or 50 minutes, or to choose from session bundles. Once paid you can book your own sessions whenever is convenient for you. Super easy. Personally, I think Josh is excellent. I cannot believe how much I have already learned within the space of a few sessions. So, if you are looking for a piano teacher, look no further.

I've learnt so many songs since starting with him - all with extra little flair parts that make it sound so much better then if I was just playing the chords. I have been having piano lessons with Josh for almost a year and would highly recommend him as a piano teacher. I started as an adult beginner and he was great at finding pieces that I could start playing straight away. His lessons cover a range of different methods and techniques (e.g. chords, sight reading, listening by ear) and he adapts his lessons to the style and type of piano music you want to learn. He incorporates theory as we go along in a way which feels relevant and interesting. He’s a very positive and encouraging teacher and has made learning the piano really fun! Would definitely recommend.

Josh is a phenomenal piano teacher. Just try one of his lessons, and you’ll agree! I bought a digital piano in January this year, having never played the piano before and having last played a musical instrument when I was in primary school (20+ years ago). In less than six months, thanks to Josh’s tuition, I can play songs by Gregory Porter, The Beatles, Lewis Capaldi, Taylor Swift, Adele, Razorlight and Robbie Williams. The best thing about Josh is that he will teach you to play the piano how YOU want to play the piano. Can’t really stress how awesome that is. He’ll listen to what you want to do and put together a completely bespoke and tailored lesson plan to enable you to do that. He ensures that each lesson is engaging and fun (and is extremely supportive), but also ensures the “boring” stuff [in my opinion] like scales and sight reading and piano theory keeps ticking along in the background. You almost don’t notice you’re getting better at it. You have a dedicated page on his website that includes a summary of your goals and practice plan after every lesson, together with a link to a personal Google Drive that collates all of your sheet music, lyric and chord sheets etc. Lining up Josh to be your piano teacher is a no brainer – get in quick before all his slots go… P.S. the Zoom lessons work flawlessly. You can have a lesson with Josh wherever you are in the world!
