Mark cleaned our two woodstoves this afternoon. It's the first time we've used Jordan Brothers - we're in Walthamstow - and were extremely happy with both the results and the experience. Clean, tidy, no mess etc. Mark arrived on time and thoroughly revitalised our well used stoves. In addition to the actual work, he was also happy to advise on best burning practice including; how to understand combustion, the pros/cons of stove top fans, how best to clean door glass (as well as demonstrating it), how to avoid having to clean it in the first place, why exactly damp wood is a no-no and he also shared a local source for compressed hardwood fuel for less than half the price of our current supplier. The stoves are now certificated and we now understand why stove thermometers and CO sensors are a good idea. :) All in all an excellent service. Great guy too! I have no hesitation in recommending Mark of Jordan Brothers to others. Thanks again Mark, and look forward to seeing you again next year.

Since I had a stove installed, Mark Jordan checks it over and sweeps the flue liner on an annual basis. although the stove was manufactured as a 'wood burning stove' and can be installed in UK smoke control areas only using wood fuel, I took the opportunity (or perhaps the liberty) of running down an old stock of smokeless solid fuel, but Mark reported that the deposits extracted from the flue had the sort of nature and dampness associated with manufactured solid fuel, which, to be used in the long term would have had a corrosive effect on the flue liner ... and I only use kiln-dried logs or hardwood briquettes since, on Mark's recommendation and there has been no problem since. Mark certainly 'knows his coals' when it comes to fuels and combustion and the service he provides is very good: he works at the appointed time; provides the necessary protection, leaves everything in order; and has a very friendly attitude. I am very pleased, therefore, to provide this recommendation. Malcolm Lynde.

I used Jordan Brothers on recommendation from my Father. I called and they arrived the next day. Managed to extract live bird from the base of my chimney, sweep it and add a bird proof chimney top in just over an hour. Really efficient and thoroughly professional service. If you have any issues with your chimney these guys will sort it for you.
