Ground based Solar PV with Tesla Powerwall and Gateway Installation and commissioning was completed in February 2023 and we’re delighted with the results. The Joju Solar team had worked with us in 2022 to design the best system for our needs. Our roof was an awkward size and shape and would have severely limit the generation potential so a ground based solution on our paddock was our decision. Joju showed us two options and we sprung for a Park Tegra frame with 16 PV panels yielding 6kW. The inverter went in a nearby shed with cabling underground to the house. The Powerwall and Gateway fitted comfortably on an outside wall next to the grid meter cupboard. We had to apply for planning permission for the array which took a while but Joju stuck with us patiently throughout. Installation took just over a week with the sub contractor and Joju team very professional and efficient. Above all, cheerful, helpful and walking us through every stage. We have an Economy 10 tariff with our electricity supplier because all our energy use is electricity. Since installation we have used hardly any peak grid electricity, typically 3kWh per week down from an average of 90kWh per week pre-installation. Our off-peak use has also reduced. And we’re still in March. So we now have the system we’ve been wanting for several years and are really pleased we chose Joju Solar as our supplier. Thanks to Emilia for the system design around our requirements; Adam and Henry, Joju’s engineers who were onsite throughout; Steve and Luke, the array installers; Dan, Joju’s project manger who liaised with us throughout and Jon, Head of Residential who came down on the last two days to set up the inverter wireless LAN and the grid export limit meter required. The project from initial contact to installation was carried out in a professional manner and when problems arose they were dealt with promptly. There was no pushy sales pressure or misinformation as witnessed from other companies . The scaffolding team, roofers and electricians were proficient in their specific fields and I would have no hesitation in recommending JoJu to carry out Solar PV / battery installation.

Having done my own research into Solar PV beforehand I knew what panels, inverter and battery I wanted and when searching for installers Joju's highly informative website impressed to I contacted them for a quote. I told them the system size we wanted and that we wanted a battery but didn't specify the manufacturer. Within a couple of days they had come back with a full design and without prompting had chosen the quality manufacturers I already had on my list which was pleasing. They gave us a few options so we were able to refine what we wanted to better meet our requirements and Toby who can to do the site survey was very knowledgable and helpful. When it came to the install the roofers fitting the panels were very tidy and efficient and the electrician Clint did a brilliant job with everything installed in neat ducting to make it look good even in the roof space. As it was a sizeable install across multiple rooves it wasn't easy for him and he worked long hours, sometimes not finishing until after 8pm to get it done for us. He also shared his knowledge of Solar PV which was great. We now have a system which is exceeding our expectations and predict we should be around nett zero for electric for the year (and possibly better) which is great. Joju were knowedgable and professional from start to finish and I'd have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone wanting a good solar PV system with a quality installation.
