All the meats look well presented & reasonably priced however the stewing steak I purchased the other day was tough as old boots even after 3 hours simmering, yes it’s a cheaper cut but this cut should be tender once stewed & cooked well.

Steve and the boys offer great customer service and, more importantly, great meat. I am a fairly regular customer for BBQs (you gotta try their sausages) and Christmas. I have bought a goose (or geese) from them for the last ten years. This year we bought a lovely shoulder of Pork too. Steve will always offer advice on cooking and marinades etc, and when my kids were young, he would give them pheasant tail feathers to take home. A great butcher's shop that I would highly recommend.

Excellent butchers, I've been going here for years and never disappointed by the quality of the meat or the friendliness of the staff. Fabulous Capon and ham for Christmas and the pigs in blankets were to die for. Many thanks to Steve and all the staff.

Johnstans of Kings Heath… it’s the place to go for quality products. Throughout the year: steaks, lamb chops (from the family farm), sausages (esp. love the fennel ones), pig cheeks for tapas, oxtail for the slow cook… I could go on, but you should have the picture - if you want it they have got it or will try and get it. Christmas is a special time for all and Johnstans is no different…. The display change.., an array of pies appear: 1lb, 2lb… game pie, pork pie (mouth watering variety). I brought a 2lb regular pork pie & up to Yorkshire for the Christmas celebrations I went… your might say coals to Newcastle. Well, it wasn’t the pie went down a storm…. I had to sneak a slice away before it was consumed by the Boxing Day crowd…. They could believe it came from Kings Health! Smaller version are available thoughtout the the year… whey hey! Thanks Johnstans for your service to our community and the brilliant products you provide.

Steve and his team are always welcoming and provide a great service, the meat we get each week is far superior to that found in Supermarkets, Christmas Turkey this year was a top bird not forgetting the joint of ham. Would recommend Johnstans Butters to those who have not visited. Keeping independent high street Butchers and quality farming alive.
