I'm scoring 1 star as I couldn't get parked to go to A&e for a broken cheek. 50 minutes driving around and I gave up. Not everyone lives on a bus route to the jr. Why don't they put a multi story carpark in like is near the ice rink in Oxford

I had an outpatient endoscopy appointment. The staff were pleasant and helpful from reception onwards. The waiting area is hospital-functional rather than luxurious and there can be delays so bring a book or magazine or talk with others! The admin and clinical staff, nurses and doctors were organised, professional, kind and effective. After the procedure and before you go home you get a written summary of what was found which is very helpful and saves an additional wait for a GP appointment. I have had to have endoscopies in several hospitals in several countries (alas!) . What you want is capable, experienced and helpful clinical teams and this is what I got. Thank you all!

I was only admitted last night, so I may need to update this at a later date. But as yet, the hospital is clean, tidy, new-ish, well run, nice food, large rooms and bathrooms, great big windows in the room - so loads of natural light, free WiFi, comfy beds, polite/knowledge doctors, great nurses, and helpful HCAs. One thing that does worry me a little, is the fact that a lot of the HCAs and nurses, are recruited from places such as SE Asia, Africa, and the Pacific. Now this isn't a problem, until it comes to patients and staff talking to one another and trying to understand what each other is saying. I'm saying this with hint of humour, as I love meeting people from different cultures. But, it does honestly get trying when having to continually having to repeat ones self, or asking a member of NHS staff too. Surely, all it needs, is for spoken English skills to be higher up the recruitment requirements? After all, I'd hate to leave here without my left arm, when all I came for is to have it set in a cast h for example! 🤣 So far, I'm very impressed! 👍

Great care, let down by shamefully inadequate catering provision First meal after 4 days of sickness followed by emergency surgery- jacket potato with cheese and beans (vegetarian patient) Except the ward ran out of cheese and butter! Patient next to us had “cheese and crackers without cheese or butter” I am a Registered Dietitian - in no way is this sad meal offering adequate in protein , calories or iron for a post surgical female patient. Nutrition is a critical factor in patient recovery and treatment that was sadly not a priority here .

Over the top rude!!! Have been driving around looking for parking for an hour. Called their operator, he basically said it’s not his problem, figure it out. I wouldn’t want to go to this hospital if it were ever a real emergency!!
