I booked John for a small multi-generational gathering of family and friends, in the Bournemouth area, to celebrate my "special number" birthday to give an added element of interest to the moment, and I was not disappointed. John's easy manner and the way he mingled so seamlessly with everyone, not to mention his devilish card tricks that kept us all entertained and amazed at his skill was par excellence. He also delivered (by prior arrangement) some age-appropriate children's magic for my three young grandchildren so that they didn't feel left out. As it was a small, intimate gathering John suggested that a 90 minute gig (at a reduced fee) would be more appropriate so as to not "outstay his welcome", which I appreciated. He was spot on with this. I can unhesitatingly recommend John for any social event that you are organising, no matter how small, for his professionalism, entertainment value and his fee which I felt was very reasonable, having searched other magicians on the internet. I have always been a huge fan of magic and illusions and I remember meeting John for the first time at a wedding fayre last year. I knew immediately that I wanted John to perform at our wedding and I am so glad he did. Not only did he entertain our guests at two separate occasions throughout the day, but he also saved a particular trick for myself (which I requested) and it was simply outstanding. John is such a friendly and professional person and his flexibility with performance durations/time slots allowed us to decide the best options for our wedding. John was our wedding magician, and my only regret is that I (as the bride) didn't get to see more of him. Everyone has been raving to me about how good he was and how the magic was a real highlight of the wedding. We booked four hours and had around 100 people, for context. This allowed everyone the chance to see some magic and I feel that this was the right amount of time. My new husband is very grumpy that he had to go say goodbye to some relatives and missed the end of a really good trick, so maybe we'll have to find an excuse to hire John again!
