Went to Joe Allen for my wife's birthday post the theatre. We chose to eat from the set menu. The food and drink were decent without being amazing. Tomato soup was good but should have been accompanied by some kind of bread rolls in my opinion. Had to ask for pepper as my pepper grinder was empty. When I asked for this, the server came across rude when telling me to wait before she brought it to me. Main course of rump stake was good but a bit cold. In addition to my comments about the food and service, when I made the booking I had noted that it was my wife's birthday via the booking system. Now, I wasn't expecting anything but it felt a bit wrong to provide you with that personal information and then not receive any kind of gesture for her birthday. In future, if you don't do anything special for people when there are occasions then simply remove it from your booking system. It sets the wrong kind of expectation. I would have not hoped for anything in that case.

A classic - wanted to visit for a long time since hearing about it on LBC from one of the presenters. White table cloths, classic American fayre in the middle of theatre land. Well worth a visit and will return. The team were really nice and although we were one of the last seatings of the day, there was no rush and the food was really good. Worth visiting... Vegetarian options: There is enough. Mac & Cheese galore!
