  My mum used JMR Solicitors for her WILL. They have been the most understanding and empathetic in a diffcult situatuon. They explianed the whole process of drafting the will in simple english and the WILL was ready to be signed within a few days. Would definatly recomend their Wills department.

  Used the conveyancing services twice (in 2021 and 2022), both of them did not go well. The process took far too long and whenever it was close to the end (just before the exchange of contracts) and I needed updates, I could not contact them easily - no response to my emails or calls for weeks. This resulted in the deals dragging on and eventually the outcomes of the deals would be negatively affected. The quality of actual work they did was just fine (hence 2 stars, not 1) but the communication was appalling. It feels as though they take too much work on board and not managing it properly. Would not recommend. Update Feb-2023: you literally called me about this review - what do you mean “you can’t find any details”?

  UPDATE: Despite the response from JMR below saying that they would be contacting me 'shortly' directly, I have received no contact from them. The update was posted a week ago.... UPDATE: they tried to make us pay an additional fee with no explanation (£30, so not massive, but still annoying), but have now admitted that they were wrong again and no, we shouldn’t have been asked for this. It’s the second time they’ve tried this, the first time it was for an additional £540! But we are now finally registered with the Land Registry (the day after the managing director of the Moving Hub stepped in… I can’t imagine it would have happened otherwise). Also, somewhat hilariously, JMR have said they’re “considering their legal options” with respect to defamation with me leaving negative reviews! I literally laughed out loud when I read that! Made my day! UPDATE: just had an email saying they haven’t yet registered us with the land registry! It’s been more than 28 days since our transaction. We’re submitting an official complaint with the legal ombudsman as they is beyond unprofessional. They have also asked for more money with no breakdown or explanation. Awful, awful awful. UPDATE: We are STILL waiting for a copy of the completed SDLT form and confirmation that the land registry records have been updated from our purchase on 27 September! Just horrendous. No response to emails. Unable to reach anyone on the phone. Unprofessional. We completed on a house with them on 27th September and despite chasing multiple times we do not have confirmation that they have actually paid the Stamp Duty or registered the change with the land registry (despite us transferring the funds to them). Now that 14 days have passed, we are now liable if they have not done this, and no one is able to confirm that it's been done! It's should be a five minute job to send an email to us - their client - confirming that this essential part of the convayencing process has been completed. When we have worked with other solicitors to purchase propertly we were told immediately and sent a confirmation of the SDLT form for our records. I've chased and now waited two weeks and nothing! It shouldn't be this difficult. This is just one example among many of our experience. Our longest wait time for a response to an email (despite many chasing emails and voice messages) was 28 DAYS! Yes, 28 days! Avoid avoid avoid.
