organised a meet and greet with a lovely dog, fell in love instantly and agreed to adopt. Asked for a week to get the house sorted and all supplies etc and was told "no, you will be making the dog suffer more by being in kennels longer" which i thought was an abrupt response to a reasonable question but thought no more of it. Then phoned to ask if the dog would be fixed before coming to us as it had not yet had the procedure and we were not comfortable being the ones to do this, Rowan was very rude and told me that we would have to take him for it doing to which I replied that as a rescue centre if it's a requirement, they should be doing it! She then got aggressive on the phone and told me "he will likely get cancer or be ill if you don't do it" (which itself shows a lack of knowledge regarding dogs and health) and then proceeded to tell me we weren't ready for a dog. Reduced me to tears and we gave back word on the sweet boy as I wasn't willing to comply with her ridiculous requests and horrendous attitude. She then proceeded to post on the Facebook page about us "letting him down and costing him a home". Would not recommend dealing with this woman, although the younger woman we met who worked with her was lovely. Shame on her for costing dogs homes, I can see from other reviews it's not just us who has had this experience. Poor dogs!

This “rescue” is about one woman’s ego, not about what’s best for the dogs. Do not support or donate to this place. She is rude and aggressive and she knows better than everyone about dogs! There are plenty reputable rescues who don’t have an agenda so supporting a legitimate one isn’t difficult. AVOID!

I attempted to open a dialogue to rescue a shar pei whom had been shared widely on Facebook and I had been tagged in the post numerous times, purely because of my long experience of the breed and how my partner and I devote our lives to our pets. I began to open a dialogue with the rescue centre and I was immediately met with derogatory comments, simply due to the fact I had a litter 3 years ago. I’ll provide an organigram of my household. 8 year old pei 5 year old pei (spayed) 2 year old pei Therefore, it is completely impossible for us to have another litter based on the above. Furthermore, the pei whom was going to be rescued would arrive neutered, further reinforcing the fact that breeding from the rescue or my 5 year old would biologically be impossible. However, due to having a litter we were met with disrespect. I am an advocate for the health of shar peis, I have excellent knowledge of health, nutrition, behaviour and general knowledge, but now the animal in need will unfortunately not be living his life with us because of the attitude of the rescue centre. If I had devoted my life to rehoming animals in need, I would most definitely approach any potential lead with an open mind and a degree of manners.

rude and disgusting replies when trying to sort out somewhere for a shar pei.. we was honest and polite and the replies back was very rude and no help. I was told by some one but once I was rudely spoke to. I decided to see what the reviews was like and I am so glad we didn't send the dog hear as this seems like they don't care for the dogs and it's all about money to them. PLEASE AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! would have got a zero star if this option was available

Recently fostered a Husky from JLP, now turned into an adoption. Dealt with Rowan from start to finish who was lovely, professional and clearly has the animals best interest at heart. I can honestly recommend this rescue and the good work they do.

I wrote in this morning to enquire about rehoming a puppy and received a very abrupt/clipped response; Rescue's (this one in particular) really need to be more aware of how they come across whilst dealing with enquiries; I say this because in the same breath they treat enquiries with contempt they will then request donations and comment on the obscene amounts of money the public will pay for pedigree animals when so many resuce animals need a loving home. Really sad.
