I thought I had posted a review before but I suspect it was only on Facebook so it’s a tad late here. Two years ago, I had only two weeks to arrange my mum’s funeral before my family, who arrived when they heard my “best friend and confidante” had suddenly passed away, left to return home to various countries. A chance encounter led me to Jim Gardener when I was looking for a funeral director. From the outset, I could tell Jim and his family were professional and respectful. No limitations, no hard sell, no request too difficult, Jim was considerate and empathetic and I immediately felt comfortable entrusting him with my mum. Someone at the funeral service summed up their unique selling point - it was as if Jim and his team had known my mum for years. The personal attention to detail was second to none even down to their trademark gift of a Memorial Book and mum’s name and a picture of a dove added to the head of the casket for all to see. Kate offered advice whenever I needed help with the arrangements and held my hand when I felt overcome with emotion at the church/crematorium. Even though the service overran, we never felt rushed by Jim. Jim and Kate were amazing from start to finish. As I like to be in charge, it usually pains me to surrender control for anything especially an important event such as this. However Jim and Kate let me take the reins when it mattered and dealt with any affairs that sat outside of this. Dignity at all times and towards everyone seems to be their mantra. Thank you, Jim, Kate et al for helping me to say goodbye to my mum with one of the most beautiful send-offs I and all of my family/friends had ever seen. I did my mum proud thanks to you. You will always have my respect.
