Our experience with Lancaster Samms was always helpful, friendly and professional. This review relates to the experience of purchasing a new build house from Palladian (York) Limited. These homes are being marketed by Lancaster Samms. Purchasing a new build home from PALLADIAN (YORK) LIMITED was extremely stressful. Many snagging issues remain unresolved. Disappointingly PALLADIAN have told me they will not complete the remaining snags. That’s 3 year’s of waiting, chasing, emails being ignored and false promises. Absolutely disgusted with the way we have been treated by Palladian. Instead, they’ve made a derisory monetary offer that will never cover the cost to rectify the snags.

The single most organised and effective property agents I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Although our house move was wrought with issues from our buyers side, Elkie has been amazing at trying to keep the sale progressing and communicating with us regularly to keep us informed. Did I mention that it is the house we are buying that Elkie is helping us with so kindly and thoroughly? That's right, Elkie is actually further up the chain from us acting as the property agent for the house we are buying. Therefore, she has no reason to try so hard with our house sale (unfortunately we used William H Brown who did everything opposite to the wonderful Elkie, please go read that review!). So not only is Elkie amazing at her job, she goes out of the way to ensure the purchase/sale is going according to plan (or help get back in line when needed!) When we sell in the future we will not shop around, we will be using Lancaster Samms and requesting Elkie. Cannot praise her enough!

We had an extremely difficult sale on our side and the chain was in danger of collapse more than once, but it was Elkie's care and attention that held everything together for us and for her clients. Fantastic company to deal with. We didn't end up selling our house as we couldn't find a property we liked enough to make the move and have now decided to come off the market but I still wanted to write this review as Lancaster Samms were brilliant throughout. James Nicholson was our agent and he sold our house, very quickly, twice! Both times the buyers were very patient waiting for us to find somewhere but inevitably, they eventually pulled out of the sale as we took far too long and just couldn't find the right house. Thankfully both buyers are more than happy with their decisions, one came off the market and the other has found a new property which they love, so it all worked out okay. James was brilliant with all parties, keeping everyone up to date and being completely honest and open with communication. It was the first time we have ever been made to feel like valued clients by an estate agent and not just another commission. We made it clear at the beginning that we would not want to move unless the right property came along and James was always very transparent with the buyers about our feelings. We have experienced, pushy estate agents in the past who just seemed to want the sale to go through no matter what and the whole moving experience then becomes very stressful. With James at Lancaster Samms, it was a completely different experience. He offered sound advice but also listened, he kept us up to date with any properties he felt might fit our brief, he was always honest to us and our buyers about both parties concerns and expectations, he was extremely knowledgeable about the housing market and extremely professional throughout but also very human, and made us feel that he had our best interests at heart. We also met Elkie from Lancaster Samms, who did a few of the viewings, again, a true professional and a really lovely, decent person. All in all, Lancaster Samms have been a breath of fresh air from start to finish, I cannot recommend them highly enough. They have a quality about them that we have found hard to find in other estate agents and we will absolutely use them again when the time is right. Thank you James, Elkie and the rest of the team.

I have just bought a house through Lancaster Samms and I cannot rate them highly enough. Throughout, what proved to be a difficult experience due to other estate agents not being as wonderful they ensured that they supported us and kept us informed of any issues. On completion they even sent us a goody bag full of lovely treats! If I ever moved again I wouldn't hesitate to use Lancaster Samms and will be recommending them to everyone I meet!
