On the few occasions I’ve won lots from auction houses in Essex, I’ve come across JenTel on lists of local shipping companies. And each time I’ve reached out to them, JenTel quotes have been at least double (once almost three times) the amount of MBE (which is really saying something). Today, after I was told by MBE that the mirror I’d won a few days was too big for them to handle, I called JenTel. Although the mirror is large, it’s very light. Once again JenTel has quoted me a ludicrous price of starting at £150 (even before I even gave them the dimension or weight) followed by a short lecture on the difficulties of wrapping and shipping). Ludicrous. I will make sure never to try them again.

JenTel collected, packed and shipped a consignment of fragile antique photographic glass plates to my father in Lincolnshire and did a superb job - everything was brilliantly well packaged and arrived safe and sound in good time and for a reasonable price. Very pleased and we'll certainly use JenTel again.

Have used and known of JenTel packing for many years. Totally professional and experienced service. I cannot recommend their knowledge & expertise highly enough. If you have an item that you cherish or have bought from an auction house - and need it to be collected by safe hands this is the ONLY company I personally would use. You pay for what you get and JenTel packing are defo my go to guys! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I try not to post disparaging reviews, preferring to encourage and promote businesses, particularly as in most cases they thoroughly deserve it. However, this morning, without reading previous reviews about this company I sent an e mail requesting a quote for shipping from an auction house, Toovey’s to my home address. I included the lot number, the auction house, my address, the price I paid and the fact the auction had taken taken place the day before. I received an e mail back asking for the lot numberS. I responded politely saying that I had identified the lot NUMBER and sent a screen shot of the lot. I then got a response saying they still needed the date of the auction to provide a quote even though that was not something requested in their initial response. I responded by identifying that I sent the e mail today on the 21st October and in that e mail I stated that the auction was yesterday which meant two things firstly that the auction took place on the 20th October and secondly that the person who read my e mails didn’t actually read them!!! It has taken me longer to obtain a simple quote than it did to research the item I purchased at auction and bid for it. If that is the kind of attention to detail that this company provides then how can I trust them to package and safely ship my item. Sorry Jentel but no thank you.

totally agree with other comments. have dealt with jentel for many years with no issues. however recently their prices are ridiculous-£50 to pick up and post one piece of pottery i only paid £50 for in the auction??? others are half the price?? shame as otherwise they offer o good service

Ive asked these for quotes for 3 different auction collection lots over the last 2+ months. They were each time WAY WAY over the quotes from others I got for the same collections. One was DOUBLE and the other about 75% more expensive and that was WITHOUT insurance where as my other quote was with insurance. Having read the reviews Im glad I didnt choose them (not that I would at double the cost) as people dont seem to be getting goods in good time or at all without hassle.

STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMANY !! MAIN PART OF THE LOT I PURCHASED DID NOT ARRIVE. I purchased a lot from Clarke and Simpson which was a pair of Chanel earrings in a Chanel box accompanied by an additional 7 pairs of earrings. The main of the auction description was the Chanel earrings on the invoice, however on receiving the parcel 21 days later all that was included was the 7 pairs earrings not the Chanel earrings. After my own investigation the Chanel earrings were still with the auction and had not been collected by Jentel. When I spoke to them they were quick to blame anyone but themselves. I asked why after paying 33£ to have something collected, packed and posted by Jentel they had not crossed referenced the lot with the description which would have resulted in them realising that part of the lot was missing. Furthermore I was offered no apology for the error, he just said it was not there fault. I will certainly not be using them again - in fact mail boxes quote came through after I had agreed to use Jentel and was cheaper, so I will use them in future. Stay clear of this company if you want your item to turn up as it’s clearly luck of the draw…
