Took my knife for a repair at the Baker Street branch which they did an OK job of. Had a look around the store and noticed that they are charging around 30% more for knives than other Japanese knife shops, for example, the Shiro Kami Sujihiki 24cm knife is £199.95 in Knives from Japan (a 15 minute walk from here) while here they are charging a whopping £414 for the same knife! Very expensive, search around before you buy from here. One of the staff members is very obnoxious aswell, almost felt like he was smirking at his co-worker about me because I couldn’t pronounce the name of one of there knives.

I have come to this lovely knife shop twice now to get my chef knives serviced. You are able to “tomato test” them before leaving the shop. I also received advice on how to keep them sharper. Always happy to spend my money here. I intend to attend the knife sharpening class in due course.

Sent my knife to be sharpened , awful job of it really uneven edge , angle was super steep . Looks it was done on a machine but the operator slipped at some point. Not worth £40 .

The knife sharpening service is an utter joke. I dropped my Japanese knife off and was told that it would take a week. That seemed a long time, but I guess they have a backlog to get through. A week later I came back, to be told that they hadn't started yet and I was two hours before the time I should pick it up, so I returned later. In the intervening time, the knife had been held to a grind wheel, with little care of angle and a rough edge applied. I think my knife was actually sharper with its dulled original edge. You'd be best off having a go at home with a hand file. More damage then good, done to a very expensive knife.
