FAQ
What is the history of the manor house and its previous owners?
Our museum is actually the former home of the famous author Jane Austen. She lived here from 1809 until 1817, and wrote some of her most popular novels while residing in the house. The building itself dates back to the 17th century, and has a rich and fascinating history beyond its association with Austen. Visitors can learn all about the house and its previous owners through our guided tours and exhibits. How long does it usually take to construct a fortress?
As a museum dedicated to preserving history, we don't actually construct fortresses ourselves. However, the time it takes to build a fortress can vary widely depending on a number of factors such as materials, size, and complexity. Visitors can learn about fortress construction and design through our exhibits on military history. Can you provide references or examples of previously constructed fortresses?
As mentioned before, we don't construct fortresses ourselves, so we don't have any examples of previously built fortresses to show. However, we do have exhibits on military history where visitors can see examples of fortresses and other defensive structures from various time periods. Can you provide me with references from previous customers who have purchased display homes from your centre?
We do not sell display homes at our museum, as we are primarily focused on preserving history and educating visitors about the past. However, we do offer tours and exhibits related to historical architecture and housing, as well as artifacts and displays related to housing throughout history. What is the museum's policy on photography or filming?
We allow photography and filming for personal use throughout most of the museum, as long as it does not disrupt other visitors or damage any exhibits. However, there are some areas where photography and filming are not permitted, and signs will be posted in those areas. We do ask that visitors respect the privacy of other guests and not take photos of anyone without their consent.Reviews

I adore Jane Austen, find everything so fascinating about her story as a woman published in her own right in her lifetime. A bit of pilgrimage for me. Staff lovely and helpful. So understated considering the enormous following of Jane Austen around the world that these novels including my favourite, Persuasion was written here ❤ amazing.
