I thoroughly enjoyed the photography workshop with James Ratchford! We had a lovely little group, which meant that we all had a lot of personal attention and help from James, and we all got along really well. James is an unassuming and modest man, but he is a hugely talented photographer who taught us things in a few hours that would have taken years of study to learn. I definitely have a much better grasp of what I can do with my camera than I ever had before. The weather wasn't perfect, but I'm not sure we can blame James for that! But it was a worthwhile experience, whatever the weather. I would definitely recommend James's workshops, and I hope to join another one soon! Thank you James!

This was my second photography walk with James. He spent a considerable time, helping me to get to grips with my new mirrorless DSLR. The Lewes walk uncovered some hidden secrets of the town and James' ideas and suggestions meant I went home with some fantastic shots I never would have taken before. Overall highly recommended for anyone interested in taking their photography to the next level.

I didn't know what to expect, but it was great! I was pleased that it was only a small group. James was on hand to offer helpful advice, answer questions and suggest interesting photo compositions. I took lots of photos and came away feeling much more confident with the manual settings.

Before taking part in the Seaford Walk, I would never have used manual mode on my camera. Now it’s my go to setting. Spending a relaxed afternoon with James, taking photographs up on the cliffs and down on the beach, was a great way to learn about the technical side of using my camera, and to explore the creative elements of photography such as subject, composition and light as well. Thanks James for an enjoyable and informative afternoon

I had a really great workshop today. The pace was perfect and you made all of us, regardless of our varying range of experience/knowledge, feel totally at ease. I am very grateful for what you have taught me today in terms of navigating my camera and it’s functions, as well as affectively being able to manipulate the settings to get great photos. I have just spent the most glorious morning on a photography walk around Cuckmere Haven , East Sussex . From the start our small group were made to feel comfortable and at ease . James gave instructions clearly and was incredibly supportive throughout . I learnt so much, even after the official walk had finished .
