Paid approx £700 up front for 5 lengths of wood, was given a collection slot which i was 15 minutes late for. The 5 lengths of timber would take approximately 5 minutes to put in the van however I'm told I have to wait 2 and a half hours until the next available slot. Im parked outside the yard now, been waiting over an hour. Not a single customer has been in or out since I've been here. Basically waiting for nothing, obviously nothing to do with covid as they claim as there isnt any other customers. 3 hours after my original time slot i eventually got the wood, in the 3 hours there was one other customer collected 3 sheets of chipboard. No other van or lorry went in or out of the yard in all that time. I complained half way through my wait, and was told they were too busy to let me in and I'd have to wait. It took less than 1 minute to put the 5 lengths of wood in the van. I will never ever use james latham again. I would recommend MH Southern in gateshead or Falcon timber in Hebburn as alternative suppliers with better customer service.

Bought wood as a private customer, just a small order of about £500 compared to their typical trade sales I imagine. Despite that all staff were really helpful, first in advising me on what was best to buy for my needs via several emails and phone calls. Then also very friendly and helpful to deal with when collecting my order. Would definitely use them again.
