  At first James Drains provided us a good service. They came and inspected our septic tank and gave us a report on the repairs required. He said they would be in touch within a few weeks to discuss getting the tank swapped to a new system. After chasing and chasing I managed to speak with them and then came the excuses as to why they weren’t getting in contact with us. Over a year later we still have had no further contact. By all means use this company if you fancy having to chase him up to get some answers and to have work quoted but never planned. Poor service

  When I first called James Drains, I had a good enough chat to want to expand on using his services. At the end of the call, I asked who I was speaking with, and he said “James of James Drains – the buck stops here” Well, the buck certainly stops there. Our actual £300 experience gave us the useful information that the sceptic tank was a very well built three chamber one. However, James could not tell us where it was draining to. Quite a paramount bit of information but I suppose we must accept we won’t know. Now that bit that’s got me doing the review is James’s totally inability to provide the report, respond to queries via email and return phone calls. To tell you he’s going to call back – then does not – then send him an email reminding him he said he’d call and no response. To have to chase the report on more than one occasion. Just for clarity this isn’t a one instance example. Without exaggerating it’s been numerous enough that I wished I'd kept a log. I’m a fair person – people are busy – but this guy just seems to disappear and does not seem to have the ability to tie his practical skills up with the administration required. I couldn’t comment on his other services as s I don’t think we will be using them and I think in hindsight I’d have used one of the bigger companies who from the off were prompt in confirming in a written document what their services covered and I think would have been more readily available to respond to calls, queries, follow up questions etc.

  Absolutely excellent service by James. Came pretty much the next day and he sorted out the blockage on the drain caused by debris accumulated during earlier months construction work and the usual sink plus dishwasher bits fat from food etc. Competitive prices, friendly and helpful got the job done with no hassle at all. Would highly recommend
