John is an amazing tutor. Both my boys attended the A level revision courses which they found extremely helpful. The courses were spaced evenly over the run up to exams which helped them with their maths revision just when time pressure is critical. I would highly recommend the courses and John as a personal maths tutor as his understanding of subject and student is excellent.

york tuition is truly amazing... from getting a grade 3 in maths and feeling hopeless and struggling! john tutored me over skype, which worked absolutely fine and each session made me feel better and feel more motivated to try my hardest, it definetly paid off! johns time and effort he put into me to make sure i acheived the grade i deserved all came down to my gcse exam, where i acheived a grade 5 which i never thought i would be able to accomplish aspecially from working at a grade 3! york tuition has also helped me with my science aswell, as this was definetly not a strong subject of mine but, i managed to get a 5 in science, with the help of a lovely lady called natalie, who really inspired me to think that science really wasn’t so bad and was possible! And from me barely passing science, to get a 5 really made me thankful for the work and effort these tutors put into me to make my results good and to allow me into a sixth form to do the a levels i love. york tuition as really helped me and am very thankful for the work and effort they put into me.

We were really happy with our tutor Sarah. She was friendly & professional and 'got' my daughter straight away. As a result her confidence increased significantly over the 4 months of tutoring in the run up to her gcse's. We had not realised just how low her confidence had become (or that she was struggling with the subject) until her gcse mock exam which she failed. We know now that this was not because she couldn't do maths but because she had not been taught in a way she could understand. Sarah turned that completely around & we are hopeful that she may now achieve a level 5 (although we & she would be delighted with a pass). My daughter no longer thinks she is 'rubbish' at maths & could almost say she now enjoys it! The increase in her confidence though was absolutely lovely to see and I can't thank Sarah enough for making such a difference. I only wish we'd had her sooner.

I was looking for a revision course to help my dyslexic son with his OCR A-level maths. My son attended John’s revision courses, he enjoyed it so much he wanted to continue with private lessons. John has provided Skype lessons for over a year, always going the extra mile to improve understanding, and raise our son’s confidence. After a year our son is a changed student, even reading books about maths! Good maths teachers are really, really hard to find anywhere. We are based in Warwickshire, we think so highly of John we are doing a digital commute, because if you find a teacher this good, you don’t let distance put you off!
