I had work done on two classical lattice concert guitars. One instrument needed major work done to reshape the guitar neck. It was so reassuring to take these instruments to a master guitar technician who done a great job to transform these guitars to a playable level. As a passionate and knowable repair expert I would use and recommend Joe with total confidence.

After using many guitar techs over the years and always encountering issues or bodge jobs, I decided to take my Fender Strat and Tele to J White. I’ve had both guitars set up and fret dressed by Joe and James and I can tell you they are brilliant, not only are they super nice people and down to earth, but there attention to detail is fantastic. I’m a professional player and guitar teacher so I’m quite particular about how many guitars play. Great prices and great service so will definitely be returning.

My Tanglewood acoustic had become unplayable after a few years of being ignored. Now it's an absolute pleasure to play again. To say the team at J. White are thorough is selling them short. They're friendly, knowledge and affordable! Considering what they had to do make my guitar playable again not only was the fee reasonable but it was easily around half the price I know friend's have been charged elsewhere.

Joe and his son have set up many guitars for me over the past 7 years or so and the improvement in playing, sound and feel never cease to amaze me. I think when you play the same guitar every day you don't always notice that it is not perfect and perhaps you adapt your style subconciously to try to compensate. Have Joe White set your guitar up professionally and trust me you will not believe how much better and easier to play it becomes. I had an old pig of a Ricki - just couldn't get used to it - Joe set it up for me - plays like an absolute dream now and my Tanglewood 12 string is now sublimely easy to play and sounding better than ever.
