John completed a hand crafted repair of a coffee table leg. This had unfortunately been an accidental incident to a much loved item of furniture which was an intricate cross legged curved piece of Mahogany with craftsmen detailing. John took on the task of restoring the piece to its former glory and we were astounded by the quality of workmanship and the match he achieved to the existing piece by hand carving a new leg. Thank you John for returning the piece to us in a perfectly restored condition, we would absolutely recommend John to anyone requiring a sympathetic repair/ restoration of cherished furniture.

We had manged to stain our Ercol dining tabletop plus it was suffering from being over polished and was looking dull in certain areas whilst being too shiny in others. John removed the existing finish from the top and refinished it to its original matt look. The results are spectacular, and we are over the moon. We can’t recommend John highly enough.

John is a consummate professional and a highly skilled artisan. I asked him to rescue two very battered old pieces of furniture that, although they probably cost very little when new, are very important to me. After an initial discussion, John consulted me whenever his closer examination of the pieces highlighted possible alternatives to the original brief, to ensure the end result was as I wished, not one that he had imposed on me. The furniture has been sensitively restored so now looks brand new and will have many more years of useful life. I paid for John’s expertise and skill and was well rewarded. I would highly recommend his work.

Excellent service from start to finish, I cannot recommend this gentleman highly enough. From the moment that I sent the initial enquiry which happened to be on a Friday evening John was very responsive, calling me within minutes to discuss the job (we had an antique dining chair that is part of an antique dining set that had been broken and was in need of specialist repair) and that communication continued throughout the weekend sending pictures, discussing possible repair options. I had spoken to a number of furniture restorers before I ended up in a conversation with John but by the end of that first phone call on the Friday evening I knew that the work had to be done by him. I wasn't wrong, the end result was absolutely fantastic, and the chair for me, looked much better than it did when we originally purchased it and equally as important, was stronger than it was when we purchased it and, after a long time being out of use it could, once again be used as part of the set. John is a very humble man but clearly a master craftsman and has spent over 40 years doing what he does, his knowledge, attention to detail and workmanship is faultless and I really can't recommend him highly enough.
