The most horrible council you can sign up for. If you signed up be sure you will be bullied. They force you to stay in a box bedroom with 4 people telling me i will have to stay here till my son is 10 bare in mind his 2 at the moment i have one more on the way. I have a leg impairment and have to walk up the stairs, they dont allow me to leave the buggy in the communal area which is spacious for a small buggy, i have to carry my son the buggy and struggle to go down the stairs which i have fallen once. If i lose my baby which im pregnant to now islington council is to blame for. The front stairs and communal area does not get cleaned we have neighbors but they dont share the cleaning so its super unfair that we have to. The front stairs had been so wet and weeded up that i fell on my back 3 weeks pregnant. The only thing the council does is tell me to swap which is impossible because no one is wanting a 1 box bedroom for £140pw whilst they have a 2 3 bedroom for the same price. The council do not care one bit about their tenants. So if your thinking to sign up to these useless people think again. Useless bullies that only care about their money and not tenants.

Abysmal service, with "workers" (often only in names) clearly being hired on political/quotas grounds, feeling untouchable and never bothering to reply politely or, often, not even to reply at all - I guess it is okay for them, they are obviously well covered at political level, but don't you ever dare be late with your council tax! I needed to do 3-4 requests to get my garbage bins and it took around 2 months to get them finally delivered; garbage collection was also shifted to another day, but no info was provided to us; every attempts to contact them did not sort any meaningful answer. I also needed some permission advice, so I went to their offices in person and after a long queue a lady (relatively kind, but previously discussing for a very long friend in very amicable friends with another person, despite the queue) suggested me to address my queries to a specific email that she provided me. I write a missive to that suggested recipient and after a few days (since I guess replying with mostly standard answers is too taxing of an activity) I am told that they would not provide the service for free to me and that if I am still interested, I will have to pay ~£80 for the privilege of booking a 20 minutes appointment with an employee of the council and get the chance to discuss with them. Note that I just wanted information, I was not asking for any certification, stamp-dependent activity of whatever. I guess all the constantly increasing council taxes are not enough to cover for the salaries of these poor people and now they need to round up a few more coins by offering their services to the citizens that are ALREADY paying for their salary with this very convenient offer (with a full hour of calls booked, that employee would earn the council an extra £240/hour - I will let you guess how this rate actually matches their competence level and overall professionalism). I objected that I am already paying for their salaries with my taxes and that seemed outrageous, not to mention that I was redirected there by a colleague of their in their reception, but they just answered me (after some more time, of course) that my complaint was registered (read: "binned", in all likelihood) and that they will pass the information to the front-desk people, so that they will be made aware too of this new modus operandi. I am absolutely flabbergasted by how poorly this council is managed, despite being one of the most affluent in the UK: streets are poorly cleaned and maintained, most of the council personnel would not last a month in a place subjected to market rules - where you need to actually provide good services to your users - and overall the lack of accountability is absolutely palpable.

No one answers the phone, no one who works there seems to have the slightest interest in regards to your issue. I find it deplorable that this poxy council can get away with what it does. Maybe when the bots take over, 2 stars could be in their future.

Sort out your useless parking renewal website!!! Why do I need two accounts to renew a permit? Useless council, useless service, one of the boroughs with the most incapable staff members. Prices of permits have increased during a cost of living crisis. Potholes everywhere. Sort it out now

Had to pop into 222 upper street yesterday drop off some paperwork. 4 workers sat at a desk having a conversation and totally ignored me after I intrupted to ask for help a woman started telling me where to post the letter but was quickly drawn back into her conversation by another staff member leaving me Standing there watching again. Theses people get decent wages for terrible customer service. REPAIRS: To be fair most of the repairs operatives are pretty pleasant felt like repairs were better when Rydon was doing them. But overall they are all cowboys told to patch things up by the council and never really fix anything. They expect the cheapest items to last decades with replacement. Could be much better!

I wouldn't give Islington Council a single star...!!! Absolutely appalling Services Islington Council provides...!!! I am a disabled person and since 24/02/2023 I have been chasing my issues via numerous emails, telephone calls and finally, when I came down physically to Upper Street I have been sitting for more than 1 hour in the waiting area and still sitting...!!! Approached more than couple times the desks and the Staff are playing on their mobile phones videos and lots of people jumped before me, despite, I have checked myself in through Reception Area...!!! Seriously, you are paying to your staff doing nothing at all...!!! As Islington Council you are not a Council at all...!!!
