My youngest started back at Xmas and has just done her first show. It is such a lovely dance school to be part of. Highly recommend

My daughter attended Island Dance Academy from age 4 to 18 years. The encouragement & professionalism of the teachers helped my little girl grow into a confident young woman who continues to dance and now choreographs & teaches in her own right. I also helped as a chaperone at many shows. Highly recommend this dance school.

I attended The Island Dance Academy from ages 6-18 and it holds a very special place in my heart. Everyone involved in the academy is wonderful and the teaching fantastic. 6 years on from leaving I often still think about everything we got to experience from exams to shows but also valuable life skills. I helped out in many younger classes and also chaperoned a bit after leaving; I have spoken about these skills countless times in interviews. I would recommend them to anyone!

I attended this dance school for 12+ years and the memories that I have made with the teachers and students are never forgotten. IDA is an academy that welcomes everyone, it’s an amazing place to make friends and make memories. Through the duration of me being there I have been lucky enough to do multiple shows and exams, to performing at Her Majesty’s Theatre for a u-dance competition and even being able to have the opportunity to teach the kids commercial, lyrical and musical theatre. This school is the reason I’m still studying dance/musical theatre today!

After trialing a local dance school (which my daughter hated) Someone then recommended IDA which was relatively new, I took her one Saturday morning & I can honestly say from the moment she walked into her first class there we’ve never looked back. When you join IDA it’s not just a school, it’s a family where everyone looks out for each other. My daughter has made so many memories and life long friends. She’s been in multiple shows & performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre. My daughter has always wanted her own dance school and to be in the dance/theatre industry Mandy has supported her in her loss and helped her throughout her time at IDA. Mandy helped when she was auditioning for colleges. Without that support my daughter wouldn’t be studying musical theatre at university today. IDA offer students to take exams from that my daughter was one out of 3 students given the chance to win a Tap Scholarship. Having left now my daughter occasionally teaches there, she’s taught a Mary Poppins summer workshop and other dance classes. She still keeps in touch if she needs information or help Mandy is always happy to help. Personally having chaperoned for numerous shows I’ve watched students grow from 5 right up into young adults. It’s been a huge part of our lives we miss it. I’d highly recommend this dance school!

I attended Island Dance Academy from 4-16 years old, when I reluctantly had to stop dancing so that I could attend revision classes for my GCSEs. I tried both tap and modern dance, but continued to dance ballet throughout my time at IDA. Mandy always encouraged me to do my best. I came out of all of my ballet exams with honours and I reached my goal of earning my pointe shoes. Mandy taught me so much about dance, even down to the English translation for the French dance terms. I particularly enjoyed seeing our show costumes for the first time and the excitement in the dressing rooms on show days. A memory that has always stayed with me is when I couldn’t perform in our show that we had been rehearsing for due to an injury (from school). I still came to see my friends perform and when I arrived at the theatre, Mandy had a box of chocolates waiting for me!
