I chose to complete the ipet level 3 diploma in dog grooming and salon management as I felt this was a far better suited programme to my style of learning. As an adult learner it had been a while since I sat a formal exam and had always preferred a more practical way of learning. I learn much better by doing and improving as I go. I’m not afraid to ask questions when I am unsure but by doing all the practical myself or watching this helped ensure it all sunk in. The theory side of things although it sometimes seemed lengthy was to the point and by using the handbook achievable by just spending the time to read and complete the questions. I still don’t think the theory was any longer than it needed to be after all this was giving me a brand new qualification. My best advice is to keep on too if the theory as you go. It gives you a sense of satisfaction that it is completed at the same time as the practical if not before!
