  On arrival the young lad that was checking us in had no idea what he was doing, and when I explained I had two rooms he just wouldn't listen and said he couldn't find my second room! Other than that our experience of the staff was lovely, we had both dinner and breakfast there, dinner was fantastic but the breakfast wasn't great. On first look our room looked clean and homely, until I looked up, saw all the wet patches and mould all over the ceiling, both me and my daughter shared that room. The other room my partner and two sons stayed in was spot on (302) no complaints there. But the mould in our room stopped us using the shower due to not wanting to be in that room so I can't say I was completely satisfied with our stay.

  We have stayed here before for a number of nights it’s our go to place when we have a dance competition in Birmingham it’s always so clean and tidy we love it here unfortunately this time we were located on the bottom floor and the smell of damp was overwhelming as soon as you got to the top of the stairs it hit you It’s such a shame because we have never had this problem before and apart from this it’s a great place to stay Rooms: Beautiful comfortable clean rooms

  Room was very lovely, hotel is in a beautiful area, reception and bar guys are increadibly kind and polite. But breakfast was beyond terrible. If you don't eat meat, the only option you had was potato and slice of bread with butter. Eggs and pancakes run out so fast, we waited for 30 min for it to be filled up, and it wasn't busy at 10 o'clock. No jam, no juice, no cereals, no water, no yourgurt or fruit.. We had to go for breakfast somewhere else to get some food.

  Room was clean and a good size. We were advised at check in breakfast was from 7AM, the reality was its 8am on a Saturday, this meant hanging around for an hour, unfortunately it seems the breakfast was ready at 7AM because most things especially hash browns were cold, the eggs overcooked and the bacon burnt. This was very disappointing as i really wanted to sample the Toby breakfast at its best. Rooms: Good size and clean

  There was nothing great about this place the staff were very ignorant in the bar and check in area dirty plates were left on tables for long periods of time. The room was very dark and dingy there was wallpaper falling off the ceiling the pillows felt like a bag of old rags the bathroom only had one toilet roll and the shower and were extremely dirty. The shower head was filthy full of black mould and looked like it was carrying legionnaires disease. Will not be booking in there again. Rooms: Filthy

  There was no shower cap available. The mattress was too firm and gave both of us backache. Boring repetitive breakfast with no options and no fruits. No phone in the room. No dedicated receptionist for the hotel, we had to wait at the bar and for the staff to handle bar and restaurant customers before attending to our requests. There was no lift. Early check-in was not available.

  The check in experience was good. Staff were very friendly and informative. The bed itself was so hard we could not sleep the first night and the pillows felt like they were filled with golf balls. After informing staff in the morning they put a quilt on the bed to act as a mattress topper, the bed was still too hard but slightly better. We were given 2 extra pillows but these were still lumpy. We had to use the small cushions which affected our sleep.
