I joined the club back in October, as an apprehensive 60+ individual with no experience of martial arts at all. I have been bowled over by the friendly family atmosphere the club has. I was made welcome right from the beginning, by members of all ages. I now have my Red belt, which I’m really proud of. The standard of teaching is exemplary. The commitment of all the instructors is second to none. Even lockdown hasn’t fazed them. I now take part in classes several times a week and have ‘met’ most of the instructors. I am now fitter and more flexible. I thoroughly recommend the Red Tiger Karate Club to everyone.

Fabulous family karate club. Red Tiger is well run, with lots of classes on offer every weekday evening all over the Greater Manchester area, so it’s really easy to find a class that suits. They also have professionally organised grading events, inter-club competitions and other training events. It’s a very welcoming and friendly club. My son trained here and I train here also, I would definitely recommend.

My son started attending classes at his school in Horwich, Bolton in September 2019 and after sitting on the side watching for a week or so - I joined in myself and have never looked back! The classes strike a great balance between the traditional values of Shotokan Karate along with having lots of fun and it's plain to see that the club has a strong family feel and is truly inclusive in their outlook (with teaching catered around the individuals within the group). All the instructors I have encountered have been very friendly, extremely knowledgable and full of energy - making learning easy, but most of all...really enjoyable! The club is run in a very enthusiastic and professional manner; which is evident in the events I have attended and has really shone through during the COVID-19 lockdown with the swift introduction of online lessons and gradings (along with additional keep fit and challenges). Fees are very reasonable and are paid on a pay as you go basis (although standing orders etc are accepted), with several discounts for multiple training and family members training in the same sessions.

My family and I started training with Red Tiger Karate Club after my son watched a class on a saturday morning in Darwen Leisure Centre. I didn't really know what to expect from a martial arts club, but it wasn't until after I achieved by blackbelt, and felt I wanted to try a different martial art to compliment my karate... that I truly undestood how lucky were were to find Red Tiger Karate Club. I have now heard so many upsetting stories from others outside of the club of bad experiences they have had with dojos, from high training costs, "up front payment of £££s to "guaranteee you a black belt", to poor quality teaching and borderline bullying behaviour. Red TIger Karate Club is friendly, well run, and professionally managed, but still has that "family feel". Whether you are looking for a way for your child (or even yourself) to gain confidence, make friends, get active, or even if you have goals to become a future karate competitor, Red Tiger, and it's links with Japan, the EKF and WKF means there is something for everyone. If youre in the North West and you are interested in starting karate - there is nowhere better than Red Tiger Karate Club in my view.
